Barcelona are lining up a big money bid for Atletico star Koke Resurreccion, reports Catalan daily newspaper Sport.
The Catalans are expected to spend heavily in the summer following a very disappointing season for their standards and it appears los Colchoneros starlet is one of the first names on their hit-list.
The 22-year-old is considered a key player at Vicente Calderon and has a €60 million release clause inserted in his deal, but Barcelona officials believe they can sign the player for €40 million.
Sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta believes Koke would offer excellent value for money even at that price and he is keen to wrap up the deal as soon as possible.
The attacking midfielder has developed into a key player for Atletico this season and having helped los Colchoneros lift the La Liga trophy with 5 goals and 13 assists, he is 10/1 to score in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
