Blanc not thinking of France

(GSM) – Bordeaux manager Laurent Blanc insists he is yet to decide where his future will lie. The Bordeaux boss is currently in pole position to land the France national team job over the summer.

Current France manager Raymond Domenech is set to step aside after the World Cup and the former 1998 World Cup winning-defender and current Ligue 1 champions’ manager has been pinpointed as the most likely replacement.

However, Blanc says he is disappointed to read news that he has made up his mind as he is focused on Bordeaux’s cause and will not make an announcement until May 20.

“The newspaper article this morning (Thursday) is absolute nonsense,” he said on the story in L’Equipe.

“What’s in it is wrong.”

Blanc’s Bordeaux currently sit nine points adrift of league leaders Marseille. And with seven games remaining, Blanc would rather focus on guiding his team to the best ending possible for the current season.

“I am not saying anything about it (the France job) because I don’t want to talk about it,” he added.

“What I want is for us to finish the season the best we can.”
