West Ham striker Carlton Cole was on Tuesday called up for Nigeria's World Cup qualifier away to South Africa next month.
Cole, whose father is Nigerian, has yet to be capped by Nigeria.
The other uncapped player in the 20-man squad for the tie, which also serves as a 2010 Africa Nations Cup qualifier, is Italy-based defender Daniel Ola.
Watford defender Danny Shittu and Obafemi Martins of Newcastle have been recalled after they were left out of the team's campaign in June due to injury.
Nigeria are top of Group Four that also includes Sierra Leone and Equatorial Guinea with the maximum 12 points from four matches.
