Galatasaray are yet to express an interest in signing Royston Drenthe, the former Real Madrid player’s representative has said.
Turkish sources claimed on Monday the Super Lig champions were lining up a move for the 25-year-old Dutchman, who was released by Real at the end of last season.
However, FIFA-licensed agent Tekin Birinci, who represents Drenthe in Turkey, played down the links, but claimed there have been talks with other Turkish clubs.
“At the moment, there have been no negotiations between Galatasaray and Drenthe,” Birinci told Goal.com.
“We had some talks with Kayserispor earlier, but they did not reach a positive conclusion.
“We are currently in contact with Kasimpasa’s management, and meetings regarding a possible transfer are in progress.
“However, the reports in the media about Galatasaray and Drenthe do not reflect the truth.”
Drenthe spent the 2011/12 season on loan at Everton, but the English Premier League club opted against buying the player outright at the end of the campaign.
