Gignac linked with Serie A switch
Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac could be moving to Italian Serie A in the near future, according to La Provence.
The highly rated forward will be out of contract in the summer and top European clubs are lining up for his services.
Gignac has yet to be offered a new deal at Stade Velodrome despite the fact that he is ready to consider staying at the club, meaning that a move away from OM in January or the summer seems likely.
And while Dinamo Moscow and Galatasaray remain keen on the 29-year-old, the latest reports suggest Inter Milan and AC Milan are closely monitoring the situation.
Namely, the Milan rivals are both in the market for a quality centre forward and Gignac is high on their hit-list.
Having already bagged 12 goals in 17 league outings this term, the France international is 7/5 to score anytime against Monaco.
Sevilla join race for Pedro Tiba
La Liga high-flyers Sevilla are considering a January move for Sporting Braga midfielder Pedro Tiba, El Desmarque can reveal.
Los Rojiblancos may need to sign a central midfielder in the upcoming transfer window given that Stephane M’Bia will be leaving for Africa Cup of Nations.
As a result, they appear to have reignited their interest in long-term target Pedro Tiba, who has been putting in some very good performances for Sporting Braga this season.
The 26-year-old only joined his new club from Vitoria Setubal this summer, and he in turn started each of the 12 league fixtures.
Sevilla have had the midfielder watched on several occasions this season, and they could step up their interest in January.
However, considering that Tiba has another two and a half years left on his deal with Sporting Braga, luring him to Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan could prove to be a difficult task.
Benfica close on Uruguayan starlet
Portuguese giants Benfica are on the verge of agreeing a deal for Penarol striker Jonathan Rodriguez, the player’s representative has confirmed.
The Eagles seem to have managed to keep the deal under wraps and they look set to complete the signing of the 21-year-old forward.
“There is interest from Benfica,” agent Gerardo Rabajda confessed to Radio Sport890 Uruguay, while suggesting that this could be “one of the biggest deal in Penarol’s history.”
According to reports, the Eagles have agreed to pay between €4m and €5m for the youngster’s services, with Rodriguez’s agent flying to Lisbon to sort out the final details.
Jonathan Rodriguez was set to join Sporting Braga in the summer, but the transfer eventually fell through.
The talented forward has been in scintillating form ever since he was handed his Penarol debut in August 2013 and has so far bagged 15 goals in 38 league outings.
