Andres Iniesta has admitted the 1-1 Copa del Rey draw against Real Madrid on Wednesday has left a “bad taste” in Barcelona mouths.
Cesc Fabregas gifted the Catalans a 1-0 lead after 50 minutes of play in the semi-final first leg, but Raphael Varane restored parity 10 minutes before the final whistle, much to Iniesta’s frustration.
“Perhaps we are leaving with a bad taste in our mouths because we had our chances. They had their chances, too, though. It was a very competitive and intense match,” the Spain international told reporters.
“In general we dominated. At times, however, we weren’t very precise. We dominated most of the match, we created chances and we could have scored another. But the end result is what it is.
“We have to be positive about the score seeing that coming to the Bernabeu and winning isn’t easy.”
The second leg is scheduled to take place at Camp Nou on February 27.
