La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly considering a summer swoop for Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez, reports Marca.
The Catalans are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements and the La Real star is one of the players they are looking at.
According to Marca, Barcelona are set to step up their interest in the talented footballer as they are ready to offer around €15 million for his services.
However, with the player’s release clause standing at €30 million, it is highly unlikely such a proposal would be taken into serious consideration by the La Real chiefs.
Inigo Martinez, 22, has long ago established himself as one of league’s top centre-backs and he has so far amassed 123 league appearances, scoring 11 goals.
He should be in the starting line-up when Real Sociedad take on bitter rivals Athletic Bilbao later today at the New San Mames, where La Real are 13/5 to claim maximum points.
