Daily Mirror has learned that Serie A giants Napoli are hot on the trail of Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin.
Despite signing Jorginho from Hellas Verona in January, Rafael Benitez aims to add another central midfielder to his ranks in the summer and the Frenchman appears to be high on his hit-list.
Napoli could face stiff competition for the midfielder’s signature though with Arsenal reportedly keen as well.
Morgan Schneiderlin joined Southampton from Strasbourg in the summer of 2008 and he was unfortunate to suffer relegation to League One in his first season at the club.
He has since played a key role in helping the Saints return to the elite division as well as establish themselves as genuine top table side in the Premier League.
And having produced some excellent displays in the process, the 24-year-old look ready to make the next step in his career and join a top European club.
