Newcastle United have signed the young Frank Wiafe Danquah, who last season attracted attention by becoming top scorer for the club’s reserve team.
The player signed a contract for the coming two seasons.
Wiafe Danquah, born in Ghana, began in the youth teams of Ajax Amsterdam in the Netherlands. After a spell at First Division side FC Omniworld he was given a trial by Newcastle.
Last year he was selected for the A-squad once, but was left on the bench for the match with Everton.
The 18-year-old also has a Dutch passport, and wants to try and conquer a spot in the Dutch U-19 squad.
