Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola claims that Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as favourites to recruit Swedish defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
The Saints decided to cash in on David Luiz on transfer deadline day, but opted against immediately signing a replacement as they already have some very good options in Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe.
Nevertheless, PSG plan to add the fourth central defender to their ranks in the January transfer window and Victor Lindelof has emerged as their primary target.
According to A Bola, the Saints hope to agree a €30 million deal for the Benfica stopper, although they could face stiff competition from other interested sides.
Lindelof has so far been linked with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and AS Roma, among other clubs, with the Eagles obviously hoping to sell to the highest bidder.
After crashing out in the quarter-finals four times in a row, the Saints can now be backed at 14/1 to lift the Champions League title.
