AS Roma are being credited with an interest in Mainz forward Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a very successful season in the German Bundesliga and has seen his name linked with several Serie A sides.
After Inter Milan reportedly considered offering him a contract, AS Roma seem to have joined the race as well.
With the player set to be available on a free transfer in June, the Giallorossi believe he can be a useful addition to the squad and are expected to try and lure him to Stadio Olimpico in the summer.
Choupo-Moting has spent his entire career up to date in German Bundesliga, playing for Hamburg, Nurnberg and Mainz.
The move to Coface Arena helped kick-start his career, with the Cameroon international going on to make 74 league appearances for the Carnival club, scoring a total of 20 goals in the process.
