Tottenham have their best chance in years to snatch fourth spot in the Premier League and gain qualification to the champions league, but with some tough fixtures to come, they will see this home match to lowly Bolton as an absolutely crucial three points which they must win.
Harry Redknapp will be pleased that he has reached this stage of the season with a distinct advantage over fourth place rivals Man City, Aston Villa and Liverpool but he will also be aware that on paper Tottenham have the most difficult run in. After the bolton match Spurs will travel to Man City for a pivotal match and they follow that with a match away at Burnley – already relegated and with the pressure off in their last game in the Premier League, they look like typical last game of the season banana skins. Redknapp only has Kranjcar and Woodgate missing from his normal line up so he will feel his squad has held itself together well at sucvh a late stage of the season. Spurs fans will feel every confidence going into this match
Owen Coyle has performed reasonably well as Bolton Manager since he came in, but the threat of relegation has never been too far away although they have now finally made it mathematically impossible for them to go down. This will of course take the pressure off the Bolton players and we could see some free flowing football from the Wanderers. Injuries are almost non existent to Bolton’s first team squad and COyle will have the luxury of being able to pick Gary Cahill, their inspirational leader who has returned to form and fitness.
Bolton could pose some threat now that they are safe and playing without fear, but with hoome advantage and a far superior squad, I have to pick Spurs to win this one.
Verdict: Tottenham Home Win
