10th April: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 11/1

With a stacked schedule from across England this weekend, Saturday promises a host of eye-catching meetings from up and down the country. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday 10th April

BST 15:00 Derby County vs Norwich City

Starting with Saturday’s guests, putting in what was a rampant display earlier in the week, the mood in Norwich’s camp should still be at a red-hot high. Despite losing their Premier League status last summer, The Yellows are have cruised towards an imminent top-flight return this season. Knowing that they could wrap up their promotion charge this weekend, Daniel Farke’s men were last seen picking up a stunning 7-0 romp against Huddersfield last time out. Only continuing on what has been a stellar run of form, the East Anglia outfit are unbeaten in each of their last 12 Championship matchups, a run that stems back to the start of February. More impressive, managing to muster 32 points on their high-flying run of form, the one-time Borussia Dortmund coach will also be boosted by his side’s extended success away from Carrow Road. Unbeaten in their last six away fixtures and winning five of those outings, it’s well worth keeping an eye out for leading marksman Teemu Pukki this weekend. Once again bagging a hat-trick against Huddersfield earlier in the week, the Finland international should be smelling a real chance on Saturday afternoon. On the flip side, while Derby might have enjoyed a real boost after bringing in Wayne Rooney on a permanent basis, The Whites are still looking over their shoulder at the drop zone. Hit with a 3-1 defeat against Reading last time out, this weekend’s hosts have recorded just a single win in their last nine Championship matchups.

Tip: Norwich City win @ 7/10

15:00 Lincoln City vs Blackpool

Last seen on Monday afternoon when laying down another marker, Blackpool have found themselves enjoying what has become a stellar purple patch. Despite having to settle for a bottom-half finish during last year’s interrupted campaign, The Oranges now find themselves sat in pole position to secure at least a play-off finish this time around. Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat fifth in the table, Neil Critchley’s side were last seen earlier in the week picking up a thumping 4-1 win against an impressive Gillingham at Bloomfield Road. Managing to build off of that deserved 2-0 victory against Swindon on their travels when opening April, Blackpool are enjoying a remarkable 13-match unbeaten run, a run that stems all the way back to February 6th. With the mood in their camp at the highest it has been all season, Saturday’s guests have also landed eye-catching wins against the likes of Oxford and Peterborough over the past three weeks. More impressive, the Lancashire outfit have gained a feared reputation for their performances on the road. Winning each of their last six League One away fixtures on the spin, it should also be noted that they have recorded a clean sheet in each of those away day victories. On the flip side, while Lincoln might just be hanging onto their spot in the play-off positions, The Imps are enduring a horror run of form. Last seen getting hit with a 2-1 defeat against Oxford, this weekend’s hosts have collected just a pair of points from their last five third-tier matchups.

Tip: Blackpool win @ 7/4

15:00 Cambridge United vs Exeter City

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, while Cambridge might have settled for a single point against fellow automatic promotion candidates Tranmere earlier in the week, The U’s have shocked many in League Two this season. Opening up this weekend’s fixtures still holding onto a two-point buffer at the top of the table and appearing to cruise towards a confirmed top-three finish, Mark Bonner’s side have really been a standout pick this year. Led by leading marksman Paul Mullin who has recorded a remarkable 28 fourth-tier strikes so far this season, Cambridge have really bounced back from that close-fought defeat against Bolton last month. Managing to muster themselves 13 points from just their last five League Two matchups, it should also be noted that The Yellows have won each of their last three straight contests at The Abbey Stadium. Looking to lay down another marker in Cambridgeshire, Bonner’s men should be smelling a golden chance. As for Saturday’s guests, while Exeter might still have their sights set on securing another play-off finish this season, they have shown a string of issues over the past month. Having to settle for a point against Mansfield last time out, The Whites have recorded just a single win in their last six League Two matchups. Also losing each of their last three contests on the road, there is no doubt that Exeter should face another stern test this weekend.

Tip: Cambridge United win @ 29/20
