With a busy midweek of fixtures from across Europe, we here at Soccer News have searched far and wide to find you a handful of helpful tips that can boost your Tuesday night acca:
Tuesday 10th March
BST 19:45 Blackpool vs Tranmere Rovers
Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, while a worrying start to the New Year may have seen Blackpool dealing with a string of issues both on and off the field, the Oranges have started to show some recent signs of life. Picking up a point against play-off contenders and League One high-flyers Fleetwood over the weekend, new boss Neil Critchley finds his side in the midst of a four-match unbeaten run, their most fruitful run since the 21st of December. Knowing that three points in midweek could see them once again break into the top half of the table, fans around Bloomfield Road will also be excited by their continued success on home soil. Including a shock 2-1 win over Ipswich last month, Blackpool have won three of their last four appearances in Lancashire and have now recorded at least a pair of goals in their last four consecutive matches in front of their own supporters. On the flip side, while Tuesday’s hosts might be enjoying their brightest run since opening the New Year, Tranmere have reignited their safety charge thanks to back-to-back victories. While Micky Mellon’s men might still find themselves sat six points adrift of safety and still seen to be a huge favorite for the drop this season, the Merseyside outfit have landed consecutive 2-1 and 3-2 wins away at Accrington Stanley and Shrewsbury. With four of the last five meetings between the two sides seeing both teams find the net by full-time, we’re backing a similar outcome in midweek.
Tip: Both teams to score @ 4/5
19:45 Dagenham & Redbridge vs AFC Fylde
Leaving it late to snatch a 1-0 win away at Aldershot over the weekend, Dagenham & Redbridge have continued on what has been quite the resurge over the past six weeks. Enjoying what has been an extended purple patch after a worrying start to the New Year, the Essex outfit have won two of their last three National League outings and have tasted defeat just once in any of their last six outings. Climbing away from the drop zone and the mood in Daryl McMahon’s camp at arguably a season-high, a huge part of the Daggers’ resurge has been down to their continued performances at the Chigwell Construction Stadium. Including landing a pair of shock 2-0 victories against play-off contenders Notts County and Solihull Moors since opening the New Year, Tuesday’s hosts are enjoying an unbeaten run in Essex that stems back to the 7th of December. Also picking up a 2-1 victory the last time they hosted Fylde last season, there is no doubt that McMahon’s side should be confident of extending on their recent purple patch in midweek. Despite opening the 2019/2020 campaign seen to be one of the leading contenders to land a play-off spot this season, it has been nothing short of a disastrous year for Tuesday’s guests. Opening the midweek fixtures sat 10 points adrift of safety and without a win in any of their previous 13 National League matchups, the mood around the Mill Farm Stadium remains at a season-low. More worrying for Fylde, including a 5-1 hammering against Dover in their last matchup on the road, Jim Bentley’s men are yet to record an away victory since the 26th of November.
Tip: Dagenham & Redbridge win @ 5/4
20:00 RB Leipzig vs Tottenham
Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, while back-to-back draws against Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen may have seen RB Leipzig sacrifice second spot in the Bundesliga, Julian Nagelsmann’s men have continued on what has been an eye-catching campaign. Including picking up what could be a crucial 1-0 win away in North London a fortnight ago, the German dark horses are unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions. Also becoming the only side to snatch points off of Bayern Munich since returning from the festive break, the mood around the Red Bull Arena only continues to soar. While Timo Werner’s goalscoring antics may have helped Leipzig gain a reputation for their performances in the final third, there is no doubt that Nagelsmann will be most impressed by his side’s continued resolve at the back. Recording another clean sheet against Wolfsburg over the weekend, Tuesday’s hosts have recorded five clean sheets on their unbeaten run and have picked the ball out of their own net just once in over 550 minutes of action. Already holding a crucial away goal and in pole position to land a maiden spot in the quarter-final of this year’s Champions League, Leipzig should be confident of making another statement in midweek. As for Tuesday’s guests, while Tottenham may have managed to snatch an ever so flattering point at Turf Moor over the weekend, Spurs find themselves in the midst of a real crisis. Without a win in any of their last five matches across all formats and losing four of those contests, it should also be noted that Jose Mourinho’s side have won just one of their last eight matches on the road.
