While England’s top-tiers might have drawn to another break thanks to November’s international schedule, that doesn’t mean we’re short of action from across the lower leagues on Tuesday. On that note, for those of you looking to stick on a midweek acca, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.
Tuesday 10th November
BST 19:00 Boreham Wood vs Dagenham & Redbridge
Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, managing to cause what was a mild upset while on FA Cup duties over the weekend, Boreham Wood picked up a dramatic penalties victory against League Two outfit Southend on Saturday. While the Whites might have opened the new National League campaign with a 2-1 defeat against Wrexham on the road last month, Luke Garrard’s men have certainly bounced back in some style and have their sights set on claiming a play-off spot this season. Last seen on fifth-tier duties picking up what was a deserved 1-0 win against Woking on home soil when closing October, Boreham Wood have won each of their last three matchups on the bounce across all competitions and have also won four of their previous five appearances. Enjoying what has been a recent resurge at the back while on National League duties, Tuesday’s hosts have conceded just a single goal in any of their last four fifth-tier contests on the spin and they will be hugely confident of extending on that tally this week. On the flip side, although Dagenham & Redbridge might have also managed to extend on their own FA Cup journey over the weekend, they have endured a torrid start to the 2020/2021 National League campaign. Including a 2-1 defeat away at Maidenhead United last month, Tuesday’s guests have won just one of their opening six appearances and still find themselves sat rock-bottom of the table.
Tip: Boreham Wood win @ 8/11
19:45 Halifax Town vs Wealdstone
While Wealdstone might have really struggled to find their feet after opening their maiden National League campaign last month, the Royals have shocked many across the fifth-tier with their recent eye-catching purple patch. Despite managing to muster just a single point from their first three contests, Head Coach Dean Brennan saw his squad pick up a 1-0 win against Altrincham over the weekend and they have skyrocketed their way up the table. With the mood in their camp at what should be a red-hot high, Wealdstone already find themselves sat as high as third in the table and some around Middlesex are dreaming of what would be a stunning play-off finish on their maiden National League campaign. Now winning each of their last five fifth-tier appearances on the bounce, Tuesday’s guests also have a real reputation for their continued performances in the final third. Including back-to-back 3-2 wins against King’s Lynn Town and Chesterfield last month, it should also be worth keeping an eye out for leading marksman Moses Emmanuel in midweek. Already recording four National League strikes in just his opening six appearances, the 31-year-old will spearhead a Wealdstone side looking to cause another upset on Tuesday. On the flip side, while Halifax might have secured themselves a play-off finish last season, it has been a far more worrying start for the Blues. Crashing out of the FA Cup thanks to a 2-0 defeat against lower league South Shields over the weekend, the midweek hosts have also failed to win any of their last four fith-tier appearances on the bounce.
Tip: Wealdstone draw no bet @ 6/5
19:45 Gloucester City vs AFC Telford United
Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, while Gloucester might have found themselves sat in the bottom half of the table after last year’s National League North campaign was brought to an early halt, the Tigers have opened the 2020/2021 campaign in impressive fashion. While James Rowe’s men might have been disappointed to have seen play-off chasers Spennymoor Town snatch a late point from the spot over the weekend, the Gloucestershire outfit have skyrocketed their way to the top of the table and the mood in their camp should be at a real high. Opening up the New Year with a real statement and securing a 3-1 win against Kettering Town on home soil last month, Gloucester have collected 13 points from their opening five sixth-tier appearances and have a real reputation for their rampant displays in the final third. Along with a remarkable 6-1 romp against Blyth Spartans, Rowe’s men have already mustered 15 National League North strikes so far this season. Winning each of their opening three appearances at New Meadow Park this year, Gloucester will be hugely confident of cashing in on that purple patch in midweek. As for the visitors, while Telford might still find themselves just about hanging onto their spot in the play-offs, they are in the midst of an extended blip. Along with crashing out of the FA Cup against lower league Leiston last month in what was a real shock, the Whites have also managed to win just one of their last five sixth-tier contests on the bounce.
