With the new Premier League season finally get back underway, managers and players will be desperate to get off to a solid start. With Saturday afternoon filled with action from across the football league, we here at Soccer News have found some interesting bets that can help boost your Saturday afternoon acca.

Saturday 11th August

15:00 BST Stoke vs Brentford

Well, although many pundits had Gary Rowett’s new Stoke City side tipped as the pre-season favorites, The Potters flattered to deceive and despite boasting a squad brimming with Premier League experience, Saturday’s hosts were completely outplayed by Leeds. Leaving Elland road with a 3-1 loss in their Championship opener has only added more pressure on the former Derby boss. Although they were able to add the likes of Thomas Ince and James McClean this summer, Stoke failed to win any of their five pre-season matches, losing four of those outings, including an embarrassing 2-0 loss to German second division side St. Pauli. As for Brentford, life at Griffin Park could be happier for Dean Smith and his men. Along with adding several players to his squad during the transfer window, The Bees put in the performance of the weekend in their opener as they thumped Rotherham 5-1. With whispers of a playoff spot this season, Brentford enjoyed an impressive pre-season and aside from a 2-1 loss to Premier League side Watford, The Bees won every other outing.

Tip: Away win @ 12/5

15:00 Wolves vs Everton

Although Wolves might just be reintroducing themselves to the Premier League, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have their sights set on securing a shock European spot and after a stellar year in the Championship, they could be this seasons dark horse. Bringing in the likes of Portugal internationals Rui Patrício and João Moutinho, along with new £18million man Adama Traore from Middlesbrough, Wolves have added very well to a squad that almost broke the 100 point barrier last season. As for Everton, although they may have also set their sights on securing European football for Goodison Park, it has been far from a dream start for Marco Silva. With the former Hull and Watford boss replacing Sam Allardyce earlier in the summer, although his eye-catching style of football and the signing of 20-year-old Richarlison may have got Toffees fans dreaming, Everton have been drastically short of form entering the season. Coming off the back of a 3-2 loss to Valencia, The Blues have lost all five of their pre-season games, including a 4-1 loss to Rennes and a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Championship outfit Blackburn. Backing Wolves to come away with their first three points of the season seems like the safe bet here.

Tip: Home win @ 5/4

17:30 Fulham vs Crystal Palace

Starting with the hosts, although many believed they deserved to come up automatically, Slaviša Jokanović’s Fulham side put in another impressive performance beating Villa 1-0 in the playoff final. Sadly for The Whites, although they have added the likes of World Cup winner Andre Schürrle to their squad, Fulham were unable to win any of their final five pre-season matches. However, coming off the back of a 2-2 draw, they will be happy to see that last years top scorer Aleksandar Mitrović found the net after moving to Craven Cottage permanently. As for Palace, The Eagles will just be hoping for a better start than this time last year. Losing their first seven Premier League games on the bounce without scoring a single goal, fans at Selhurst Park will be glad to see how things have turned around. After former England boss Roy Hodgson successfully guided them away from the drop zone, Palace have enjoyed an impressive pre-season and have been in fine goalscoring form. Managing to keep talisman Wilfred Zaha, a man who has scored four in four in pre-season, Palace have won all five of their friendly outings and more impressive, they have scored a staggering 19 times. On paper, this has all the making of a goal-fest.

Tip: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals @ 6/5
