11th March: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 13/1

With the Champions League making its return on Tuesday and plenty of action from across England, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips to boost your midweek acca:

Tuesday 11th March

BST 19:45 Stevenage vs Swindon

Starting with Tuesday’s visitors, while Swindon might be coming off the back of a close-fought 2-1 loss against playoff contenders Carlisle over the weekend, the mood in Richie Wellens’ camp should be on a high. Now sat five points adrift from mounting their own surprising push for the playoffs, the Robins have now lost just two matches since New Year’s Day. Enjoying their brightest run of the season that also saw them pick up a very eye-catching 3-2 win over automatic hopefuls MK Dons last month, Swindon have lost just a single match away from the County Ground since the 15th of December. While the visitors might be enjoying a purple patch in League Two, the same can not be said for Stevenage. Suffering a 1-0 loss at home to Bury over the weekend, the Boro are enduring a five-match winless run and their form at the Lamex Stadium will be a growing concern for Dino Maamria. Tuesday’s hosts have now lost three of their last four matches at home, scoring just a single goal in those three defeats. With Swindon picking up a 3-2 win when the two sides met in Wiltshire back in November, we’re backing Wellens’ side to come away with the three points.

Tip: Away win @ 6/4

19:45 Aldershot vs Leyton Orient

Coming off the back of a 1-0 win over fellow title contenders Wrexham on Saturday, Leyton Orient have reclaimed their spot at the top of the National League table and now sit in pole position to book a return to the Football League. Currently enjoying a four-match winning run and arguably enjoying their brightest spell of the campaign, it will be Orient’s form in the final third most impressing Justin Edinburgh. Along with winning their last three consecutive matches away from Brisbane Road, the Reds have scored two or more goals in each of those victories on the road. One man to watch for the visitors will be leading goalscorer, Macauley Bonne. The 23-year-old has already bagged 20 National League goals this season and sits third in the overall goalscorer charts. While Orient might be in a battle at the top of the table, Aldershot find themselves in their own battle at the other end. Slumping to a 2-1 loss against Barrow on Saturday, they now sit seven points adrift of safety and are almost universally tipped for the drop this season. Enduring a remarkable run of form that has seen them pick up just a single victory across any competition since the middle of November, we’re backing another comfortable evenings work for Leyton Orient.

Tip: Away win and over 2.5 goals @ 15/8

20:00 Manchester City vs Schalke

Snatching a last-gasp winner in the first leg and all but securing their spot in the quarterfinals of this year’s Champions League, Manchester City are still on course for a historic quadruple-winning season. Now enjoying a nine-match winning run, a run that has also seen the pick up the EFL Cup last month, Pep Guardiola should be expecting another ruthless display against a Schalke side at the heart of a relegation battle in the Bundesliga. Unable to match their second-place finish last year, the Blues hold just a four-point buffer from slipping into the drop zone and are coming off the back of a woeful display in their 4-2 hammering away at Werder Bremen. More worrying for Domenico Tedesco, his side have now conceded four goals in their last two appearances and have shipped 14 goals in just their last four outings. One man who will be relishing the chance to come up against a Schalke side short on confidence and form is last weekend’s hat-trick hero Raheem Sterling. Really stealing the show against Watford on Saturday, the England international has recorded five goals in just his last three matches at the Etihad and also bagged the winner when the two sides met in Germany last month. Given Schalke’s drastic defensive issues, we’re backing Sterling to extend his goalscoring tally on Tuesday night.

Tip: Raheem Sterling to score anytime @ 20/21
