14th January: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 9/1

With a busy Tuesday night of footballing action from across Europe’s top-tiers, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your midweek acca:

Tuesday 14th January

BST 19:45 Tranmere Rovers vs Watford

While Watford may have seen Tranmere pull off what was a famous comeback at Vicarage Road last week, the Hornets bounced back in some style over the weekend. With the mood in their camp at a continued high following the appointment of Nigel Pearson last month, Tuesday’s guests picked up what was a stunning 3-0 win away at Bournemouth on Sunday and have now climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time this season. Making a string of improvements since bringing in the one-time Leicester boss, Watford have won each of their last three Premier League matches on the bounce and are in the midst of a six-match unbeaten run across all competitions. With attacking talisman Troy Deeney once again finding the net at the Vitality, the Hornets have really started to shine in the final third and they have bagged a trio of strikes in three of their last four appearances. On the flip side, while Tranmere may have come from three goals down to snatch an FA Cup replay last week, the League One outfit still find themselves in the midst of an extended rut. Sat two points adrift of safety in England’s third-tier, Tuesday’s hosts have failed to win any of their last six matches across all competitions, including a 2-1 defeat at home against Leicester’s U21’s last week.

Tip: Watford win and over 1.5 goals @ 1/1

19:45 AFC Fylde vs Notts County

Starting with Tuesday’s guests, picking up a 2-1 win over Dagenham & Redbridge in the FA Trophy, Notts County have continued on what has been a stellar run of form. Skyrocketing up the National League standings and now seen to be a huge favourite to clinch a play-off spot this season, the White and Blacks have won six of their last seven matches across all competitions and are enjoying an unbeaten run in the fifth-tier that stems back to the 23rd of November. With the mood around Meadow Lane at a continued high, the Nottinghamshire outfit also have a growing reputation for their performances at the back. Along with putting five past title hopefuls Halfix on the road last month, Neal Ardley’s men have shipped just a single goal in each of their last four National League outings. Also snatching a 2-0 win over Fylde when they faced off earlier in the season, there is no doubt that Notts County will make the trip to Mill Farm confident of extending their winning run. While Tuesday’s hosts may have picked up a much-needed victory over lower league Southport over the weekend, the Lancashire side have been hit with back-to-back National League defeats and have failed to win any of their last five appearances.

Tip: Notts County win @ 29/20

19:45 Inter Milan vs Cagliari

While Inter Milan may have seen Atalanta snatch what was a dramatic late equalizer over the weekend and sacrificing top spot in Serie A, I Nerazzurri have made a string of improvements since bringing in former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte. Still in the midst of a 13-match unbeaten run in Italy’s top-tier, a run that stems back to the 6th of October, one man who has continued to take the San Siro by storm this season has been attacking talisman, Lautaro Martínez. Once again finding the net against Atalanta over the weekend, the Argentina sensation has now found the net in back-to-back appearances and also has bagged seven goals in his last nine matches across all competitions. Also finding the net in Inter’s 2-1 win over Cagliari back in September, there is no doubt that the 22-year-old should be confident of extending his recent purple patch in midweek. While Tuesday’s guests may have started the season so brightly, Rolando Maran’s men have since come crashing back down to earth. Hit with a 2-0 defeat against AC Milan on home soil over the weekend, they have lost their last four matches on the bounce, including a 4-0 hammering away at Juventus last week. Even more worrying for fans around Sardegna Arena, Cagliari have also shipped at least a pair of strikes in each of their last five appearances.

Tip: Lautaro Martínez to score anytime @ 11/10
