14th September: Saturday’s Championship Accumulator – 18/1

With the Championship making its return after the international break, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your Saturday acca:

Saturday 14th September

BST 15:00 Charlton vs Birmingham

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, after securing a Championship return via the play-offs over the summer, few in the second-tier would have expected Charlton’s stellar rise. Managing to keep hold of Head Coach Lee Bowyer, the Reds are coming off the back of another impressive showing in their 2-0 win over Reading prior to the international break. Now remarkably sat second in the table and handed the chance to potentially leapfrog Swansea to top spot, the Addicks have won back-to-back appearances and are one of just three sides to maintain an unbeaten start after their opening six matches. One man to watch this weekend will be the red-hot Lyle Taylor. Once again finding the net against Reading, Charlton’s leading man already has five goals to his name and has found the net in all bar one of his appearances. As for Saturday’s guests, while Birmingham may have managed to pick up a hard-fought 2-1 win over a struggling Stoke, the Blues have won just two of their last six appearances and huge part of their issues has come down to their form on the road. Pep Clotet’s men have lost each of their last three matches away from St. Andrew’s by a score of 3-0.

Tip: Charlton win @ 13/10

15:00 Stoke City vs Bristol City

Although Bristol City may have opened the 2019/2020 Championship campaign with a 3-1 defeat at home to Leeds, the Robins have really bounced back in some style. Now climbing up to fifth in the standings and with their sights firmly set on securing a play-off finish come May, it will undeniably be their form in the final third most impressing Lee Johnson. Led by former Stoke striker Benik Afobe who has now bagged three goals in his last four appearances, Saturday’s guests have scored two or more goals in each of their last four Championship outings. Also enjoying a five-match unbeaten run in the second-tier and also winning back-to-back matches on the road, Bristol should be confident of extending their winning run this weekend. Suffering a 2-1 loss away at Birmingham prior to the international break, Stoke have continued on what has been a woeful start to the new campaign. Now sat at the foot of the table and the pressure really mounting on Nathan Jones, the Potters have lost each of their last three appearances and are one of just two sides still searching for a first win.

Tip: Bristol City to score over 1.5 goals @ 9/4

15:00 Preston vs Brentford

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, picking up a point away at Nottingham Forest prior to the international break, Preston are another side who have really shocked many with their start to the new campaign. Now winning three of their last four matches across all competitions and yet to taste defeat in any format since the middle of August, Alex Neil’s side have their sights set on mounting a surprise play-off push this season. Handed the chance to climb into the top-six, a huge part of their recent success has come down to their continued displays at Deepdale. The former Norwich boss has seen his side win each of their last three matches on home soil and have yet to taste defeat in front of their own supporters since the start of April. As for Saturday’s guests, despite picking up a much-needed victory over Derby prior to the international break, Thomas Frank’s men have recorded just a pair of wins so far this season and still find themselves sat in the bottom half of the table. Also now losing back-to-back matches on their travels, we’re backing a high-flying Preston to extend their winning run this weekend.

Tip: Preston win @ 13/8
