15th May: Midweek Football Accumulator – 10/1

While the Premier League season may have drawn to an end, that doesn’t mean we’re short of footballing action from across the footballing world. On that note, we have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your midweek acca:

Wednesday 15h May

BST 19:45 Leeds vs Derby

While Leeds may have had to settle for a place in the playoffs after a sluggish end to the year, Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be boosted by their 1-0 win at Pride Park last weekend. Holding a much-needed advantage heading into their second-leg and now in pole position to book their spot at Wembley later in the month, the former Napoli boss will also be boosted by their stellar record against the Rams this season. Including their first-leg victory against Frank Lampard’s side on Saturday, Leeds have won all three of their meetings against Derby this year, scoring seven goals and conceding just one in return. While leading goalscorer Kemar Roofe will miss Wednesday’s second-leg due to an injury picked up at training, Leeds will be boosted by the timely return of Patrick Bamford. The former Middlesbrough striker has three in his last five and will be looking to exploit Derby’s issues on the road. Despite securing a late push to the playoffs on the final weekend of Championship fixtures, the former England midfielder has seen his side pick up just one away win in their last 10 matches across all competitions, a run that stems back to the end of January.

Tip: Leeds win @ 8/11

19:45 Atalanta vs Lazio

Coming off the back of another impressive display in their 2-1 win at home to Genoa last weekend, few in Italy would have expected Atalanta’s stellar campaign in Serie A. Now sat fourth in the table and in pole position to secure Champions League football for next season, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are enjoying a five-match winning run and are unbeaten in their last 14 matches across all competitions, a run that stems back to the 23rd of February. Looking to lift their first Coppa Italia title in over 50 years, a huge part of Atalanta’s success this year has been their continued form in the final third. Led by leading goalscorer Duvan Zapata who has bagged 25 goals this season, no team in Italy’s top-tier hold a better attacking record than Gasperini’s men. While Atalanta might be looking to secure a European finish this year, Lazio find themselves sat way down in eighth and four points adrift of a Europa League finish. Despite having the advantage of having this year’s final held at their Stadio Olimpico, Simone Inzaghi’s side have now suffered back-to-back defeats on home soil. With Atalanta picking up a very commanding 3-1 win when they last faced off against Lazio earlier in the month, La Dea have now recorded back to back-to-back victories against their opponents on Wednesday.

Tip: Atalanta to lift the trophy @ 19/20

Thursday 16h May

01:00 Toronto FC vs DC United

Starting with Thursday’s visitors, coming off the back of another impressive display in their 1-0 win against Sporting KC last weekend, DC United have their sights firmly set on winning the Eastern Conference outright this year. With the chance to leapfrog Philadelphia to top spot, Ben Olsen’s side have won three of their last four matchups and many around Audi Field will be most impressed by DC’s performances on the road. Losing just one of their five matches outside of Washington and winning three of their last four on their travels, one man to watch in midweek will be the inform, Paul Arriola. Scoring the winner against Kansas City last time out, the 24-year-old has now scored in back-to-back appearances. While DC might be looking to secure their spot at the top of the Eastern Conference, Toronto have begun to show some signs of a struggle. Coming off the back of a 2-1 loss at home to Philadelphia last weekend, Greg Vanney’s side have lost three of their last four and once again sit on the verge of falling out of the playoffs. Also losing back-to-back matches at BMO Field, a high-flying DC side should be confident of extending their impressive start to the season.

Tip: DC United draw no bet @ 5/2
