17th November: Tuesday’s European Accumulator – 10/1

With a stacked midweek schedule from across Europe on Tuesday, we are offered action from the Nations League and England’s lower tiers. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Tuesday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Tuesday 17th November

BST 17:30 Hull City vs Grimsby Town

Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, managing to pick up yet another 2-0 victory this time against Burton on home soil over the weekend, Hull are already seen as one of the leading contenders to regain their Championship status at the first attempt. Putting on what was a professional display at the KCOM on Saturday and capitalizing on Peterborough’s slip-up, the Tigers now sit just a single point adrift of claiming top spot in England’s third-tier. Turning their attention back to EFL Trophy duties in midweek, Grant McCann’s men now find themselves enjoying a three-match winning run across all competitions, with all three of those victories coming by a scoreline of 2-0. In fact, winning six of their previous eight appearances, Hull also hold what is a very impressive record on home soil. Including progressing their FA Cup adventure with victory against fellow play-off chasers Fleetwood earlier in the month, Tuesday’s hosts have won five of their six contests at the KCOM since opening the 2020/2021 campaign. On the flip side, while Hull might be enjoying a real purple patch, Grimsby find themselves enduring a real struggle. Knocked out of the FA Cup thanks to a 3-1 hammering against National League outfit Dagenham & Redbridge, the League Two strugglers were also hit with another 3-1 defeat against Leicester’s U21’s at Blundell Park last week.

Tip: Hull City win by 2+ goals @ 7/4

19:00 Exeter City vs West Brom’s U21’s

While Exeter would have been disappointed to have only left Bradford with a point to show for their troubles after what was an action-packed first-half in West Yorkshire, the Grecians should still find the mood in their camp at a high. Still battling it out in the play-off chase after their heartbreak at Wembley over the summer, they sit just a point adrift of climbing into the top-three in League Two. Seen as one of the leading contenders to secure a step up to England’s third-tier this season, Head Coach Matt Taylor finds his side enjoying a remarkable 12-match unbeaten run that stems all the way back to September 19th. Already cruising their way to the top of their group in this year’s EFL Trophy after securing back-to-back wins, it should also be highlighted that Exeter hold what is nothing short than a stunning record on home soil. Including continuing their FA Cup adventure thanks to a victory against non-league AFC Fylde earlier in the month, Tuesday’s hosts have won each of their last five straight contests at St James Park. Looking to continue on their 100% record in this year’s tournament, it could be another tough night for West Brom’s U21’s in midweek. Hit with a 3-0 drumming when they made the trip to Forest Green last month, the Premier League’s youth outfit have lost six of their previous eight EFL Trophy appearances and face an overwhelming step up in class on Tuesday.

Tip: Exeter City win and over 1.5 goals @ 21/20

19:45 Croatia vs Portugal

While Portugal might have seen their Nations League adventure come to an end against France on home soil over the weekend, there is no doubt that the Reds will be looking to sign off their campaign with a victory on foreign soil. Eventually hit with what was a close-fought 1-0 defeat against Les Bleus in Lisbon on Saturday, the inaugural champions have enjoyed an eye-catching run over the past 13 months. Managing to romp their way to next year’s delayed European Championships and with Cristiano Ronaldo enjoying yet another extended international purple patch, Portugal’s defeat over the weekend was their first loss across any format since October 2019. Smelling what is a golden chance to make an immediate return to winning ways on Tuesday night, it should also be noted that Fernando Santos’ men have only lost one of their previous nine matchups on the road. Picking up what was a thumping 4-1 victory when they last faced off against Croatia back in September, the 2018 World Cup finalists could be in for another long night’s work. Hit with a 2-1 defeat away in Sweden over the weekend, the midweek hosts have managed to collect just a single point over their last three Nations League appearances. Winning just a pair of their seven contests in 2020, we’re backing an away victory on Tuesday.

Tip: Portugal win @ 1/1
