Blackburn have the unenviable task of trying to keep a resurgent Tottenham Hotspur at bay on Saturday at Ewood Park.
Blackburn are by their own admission not quite on song at the moment with goals being somewhat hard to come by. Injuries are also playing ther part, with Brett Emerton now ruled out for the next few weeks. They have missed free scoring midfielder David Dunn in recent weeks, and it will be a boost to morale for the team when he returns at the weekend. Fortunately former England Stopper Robinson has been in good form between the sticks and he will have to be at his best to keep the Spurs’ strikers at bay. Manager Sam Allardyce returns to the dugout for the first time since his heart operation and he will hope to have a positive effect on his side.
Tottenham recorded a superb 3-0 victory over top four rivals Manchester City in midweek and will look to continue their good form against an out of sorts Blackburn Rovers. Harry Redknapp will have to choose two from his three in form striker, with Defoe and Crouch expected to get the nod ahead of Robbie Keane. Spurs are scoring from all over the park, but their main concerns will be at the back with Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate still missing through injury. tottenham seem to have so much about them going forward, I can only see one result here.
