Real Betis midfielder Rafael van der Vaart may be moving to Brazil after all, according to Brazilian agent Marcus Leite.
The Dutch midfielder is desperate to leave Estadio Benito Villamarin in search of regular playing time and he has already been linked with a move to South America.
But, after Santos refused the opportunity to sign the former Oranje star, there are a couple of clubs from Brazil that are negotiating a deal with the veteran footballer.
Well-known agent Marcus Leite told O Globo that two clubs are ready to bring Van der Vaart to South America and they are currently trying to agree personal terms with his representatives.
That is not going to be an easy job considering that the midfielder is currently earning around €3.5 million per campaign.
Van der Vaart, 33, made a total of 7 La Liga appearances this season, but he last featured in a competitive match over two months ago.
It is important to note that Brazilian clubs have until 20 April to sign new players, meaning the Dutch player will not have to wait for the summer transfer window.
