1st May: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 8/1

While the 2020/21 campaign might be reaching the final stretch, we have another stacked weekend of fixtures from up and down the country. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday 1st May

BST 15:00 Brighton vs Leeds United

Starting with Saturday’s guests, fully deserving of their point against Europea League semi-finalists Manchester United last weekend, the mood in Leeds’ camp should be at a real high. Coming through a tough fixture run in an eye-catching fashion, The Whites have gained a string of admirers since making their Premier League return last year. With their sights firmly set on clinching a top-half finish this season, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are unbeaten in each of their last six top-flight contests. Still boosted by that stunning last-gasp winner away at soon-to-be champions Manchester City earlier in the month, Leeds have now taken points off of The Sky Blues, Liverpool and Manchester United in their last three contests on the spin. Arguably enjoying their brightest run of the 2020/21 campaign, the one-time Napoli boss should be smelling a real chance to cash in on their purple patch this weekend. Landing back-to-back victories away from Elland Road, including that 2-1 win against City on April 10th, a struggling Brighton might face another stern test on Saturday afternoon. Last seen getting hit with that shock 1-0 loss away at an already relegated Sheffield United, The Seagulls are still looking over their shoulder at the drop zone. Failing to win any of their last four Premier League matchups and showing a host of issues in the final third, don’t be surprised to see Leeds upset the odds this weekend.

Tip: Leeds United draw no bet @ 5/4

15:00 Birmingham City vs Cardiff City

Mounting an eye-catching turnaround away at relegation scrappers Derby last weekend, few across the Championship would have expected Birmingham’s stellar rise since bringing Lee Bowyer to St. Andrew’s. Despite their former midfielder facing his own relegation battle when he moved to the Midlands, The Blues have only skyrocketed their way up the table. Managing to extend on their second-tier status with time to spare, the mood in their camp will be at a red-hot high. Last seen picking up that 2-1 victory away at Pride Park, Saturday’s hosts are unbeaten in each of their last six Championship matchups, winning four of those contests. Snatching points off of both Brentford and Swansea on their extended purple patch, the former Charlton boss has also seen his resurging squad land 10 points from their last four matchups at St. Andrew’s. On the flip side, after having it confirmed that they can not clinch a late play-off spot, The Bluebirds will simply be looking to end their campaign with a flurry. Bringing an end to their five-match winless run last weekend, Mick McCarthy’s side were last seen picking up a 2-1 win away at Wycombe, a result that confirmed The Wanderers’ immediate League One return. However, it should be noted, with each of Cardiff’s last four Championship contests finishing with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome on Saturday afternoon.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 1/1

17:30 Chelsea vs Fulham

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, while Chelsea would have been disappointed to have only played out a 1-1 draw out in Madrid earlier in the week, they do find themselves holding a crucial advantage. Ahead of their Champions League semi-final second-leg next week, The Blues have really impressed since bringing in Thomas Tuchel back in January. Along with continuing on their European adventure this year, the former PSG boss has also seen his side move into pole position to secure another top-four finish this season. Last seen on Premier League duties making the trip to surprise package West Ham, the former champions landed what could turn out to be a critical victory on their travels. Eventually landing a 1-0 win at The London Stadium, Tuchel’s side have shown that their stunning defeat against West Brom earlier in the month was just a minor blip. Holding a three-point buffer from dropping out of the top-four and with just a single domestic defeat to their name since Tuchel took charge, Chelsea should be smelling a real chance to extend on their unbeaten run this weekend. On the flip side, suffering more last-gasp heartbreak against Arsenal last time out, Fulham appear to be freefalling towards an immediate Championship return. Despite grabbing a 1-1 draw off of The Gunners, Scott Parker’s side have mustered just a single point from their last five Premier League matchups. Losing each of their last six meetings against Saturday’s hosts, we’re backing a similar outcome.

Tip: Chelsea win & under four goals @ 1/1
