Hull City midfielder Mohamed Diame is in talks over a move to Newcastle United, according to the Mail Online.
The North East club have met the twenty-nine year old’s £4.5m release clause as they look to strengthen ahead of Friday’s Championship opener against Fulham.
Diame has racked up fifty-seven appearances in all competitions for the Tigers since signing for them in the summer of 2014, scoring fourteen goals.
Prior to his switch to the KC Stadium he spent two years with West Ham United and has also played for Wigan Athletic since moving to England.
He has been capped thirty-two times for Senegal with his one and only international goal so far coming in a 2-0 Africa Cup of Nations qualification victory over Gabon back in March.
Newcastle are the clear favourites to with the Championship and can be backed at a price of 7/4.
