With another weekend of action from across English football, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your weekend acca.
Saturday 22nd September
15:00 BST Burnley vs Bournemouth
On Saturday it really is a battle of two sides enduring very diffrent starts to the new Premier League season. While Burnley did enjoy a record-breaking campaign last year, the Clarets failed to adapt to the demands of Europa League football and after crashing out of Europe at the hands of Olympiakos, Sean Dyche’s side are still looking for their first win of the season. Coming off the back of losing 1-0 to newly-promoted Wolves last weekend, Burnley have also lost each of their matches at Turf Moor so far. As for Eddie Howe’s Cherries, life couldn’t be better on the South Coast. While they are coming off the back of a close fought 2-0 loss to Chelsea last time out, Bournemouth hold the fourth best-attacking stats in the division and are yet to be beaten in any other competition. Putting four past Leicester last time out, we’re backing the Cherries to come away with the three points on Saturday.
Tip: Away win @ 6/4
15:00 West Brom vs Millwall
For Darren Moore’s West Brom side, after slumping to a very disappointing 2-1 loss to Bolton on the opening game of the season, the Baggies have done a very impressive job of bouncing back. Now on a four-match unbeaten run and winning three of those outings, Saturday’s hosts put four past Bristol City last weekend. Tipped by many to be a contender in the race for a playoff position, one man to thank for West Brom’s recent success is last seasons top scorer Jay Rodriguez. Along with scoring a brace against the Robbins last weekend, the former Southampton man sits second in the Championships goalscoring charts. Given Millwall’s recent struggles, the 29-year-old should fancy his chances of carrying on his record. With the Lions coming off the back of a lackluster 2-0 loss away at QPR, Millwall have now failed to win any of their last five Championship matches and are still looking for their first clean sheet this season.
Tip: Jay Rodriguez to score anytime @ 13/10
15:00 Middlesbrough vs Swansea
While Tony Pulis would have been disappointed to have seen his Boro side slip to a 1-0 loss away at Norwich last weekend, Middlesbrough appear to have bounced back and put in a professional performance in their 2-0 win over Bolton in midweek. Now sat just a single point below Leeds for top spot in the Championship, many have Saturday’s hosts tipped as one of the leading contenders for automatic promotion. It will be their defensive record most impressing the former Stoke boss, conceding just three goals in their opening eight games, Boro comfortably hold the best defensive record in the division. It is also worth noting that they have now conceded just one league goal in their last seven outings. With the Swans coming off the back of a poor showing in their 1-0 loss to Stoke on Wednesday, Swansea now have just one win in their last six and have also only found the net once in September.
Tip: Home win to nil @ 6/4
