With an action-packed weekend from across the footballing globe, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your Sunday acca:
Sunday 22nd September
BST 12:00 West Brom vs Huddersfield
Starting with Sunday’s hosts, while West Brom may have left it late to snatch a 1-1 draw off of fellow play-off hopefuls Fulham last weekend, the Baggies still remain the only side in the Championship to boast an unbeaten start. With their sights firmly set on securing a top-six finish come May, the Baggies appear to be enjoying life under former West Ham boss Slaven Bilić. Led by Hammers loanee Grady Diangana who has already bagged three goals since making the year-long move from the London Stadium, West Brom have continued to show some form in the final third. Handed the chance to potentially climb into the automatic spots, fans around the Midlands should be confident of extending their unbeaten run this weekend. Despite turning to former Lincoln boss Danny Cowley last week, Huddersfield are coming off the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday and have now lost their last six matches on the bounce. It is also worth noting that the Terriers have conceded two or more goals in each of their past five Championship appearances.
Tip: West Brom to score over 1.5 goals @ 8/11
16:30 Chelsea vs Liverpool
While Liverpool might be coming off the back of a defeat away at Napoli in midweek, Liverpool still sit in pole position to clinch their first Premier League title. Now holding a two-point buffer over Manchester City and the only team to boast a 100% start to the new campaign, one man to watch on Sunday will be the red-hot Sadio Mane. Once again bagging a brace against Newcastle after returning from the international break, the Senegal international now has six goals in his last six matches across all competitions. It is also worth noting that the winger scored both goals when Liverpool lifted to Super Cup title against Chelsea last month. As for Sunday’s hosts, also coming off the back of their own shock defeat in their Champions League opener in midweek, the Blues have continued to show some real inconsistencies. Yet to record a single clean sheet across any competition since appointing Frank Lampard as Head Coach, the former champions have also shipped two or more goals in four of their opening five Premier League appearances.
Tip: Sadio Mane to score anytime @ 11/10
23:00 New York Red Bulls vs Philadelphia Union
Starting with Sunday’s guests, picking up a very impressive 1-1 draw away at runaway Western leaders Los Angeles last weekend, Philadelphia have continued to enjoy a bright end to the MLS campaign. Now enjoying a three-match unbeaten run, a run that also saw them pick up a 3-1 win over defending champions Atlanta United earlier in the month. With their spot in the play-offs all but confirmed and still looking to mount a late charge for the Eastern title, one man who has continued to spearhead the Union’s eye-catching run has been the red-hot Kacper Przybylko. Now finding the net in each of his last three appearances on the bounce, the 26-year-old now has 14 MLS goals to his name, including 10 in his last 13. Given New York’s continued issues, there is no doubt that Przybylko should be confident of extending his purple patch this weekend. Despite ending their losing run against Portland in midweek, Chris Armas’ men have lost three of their last four, including a 4-2 hammering against Seattle last weekend. Also now winning just one of their last four matches in New Jersey, Sunday could prove to be yet another tough test.
Tip: Kacper Przybylko to score anytime @ 6/5
