23rd June: Sunday’s Football Accumulator – 11/1

While the major European leagues might be on hold over the summer, that doesn’t mean we’re short of action from across the footballing globe. On that note, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your Sunday acca:

Sunday 23rd June

BST 00:30 FC Cincinnati vs LA Galaxy

Starting in the early hours of Sunday, despite crashing out of the US Open Cup at the hands of Portland Timbers in midweek, LA Galaxy still have their sights set on making a charge for the Western Conference. Now seen to be the closest contender for runaway league leaders Los Angeles FC, Head Coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto has seen his side win two of their last three MLS contests and one man who has continued to spearhead their charge is former Manchester United striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Now finding the net in back-to-back outings, including away at Kansas last month, the 37-year-old has recorded 11 MLS goals this campaign and currently sits second in the overall goalscoring charts. Given Cincinnati’s continued struggles, particularly defensively, Ibrahimovic should be confident of extending his tally this weekend. Also falling out of the US Open Cup at the hands of little-known USL outfit Saint Louis, Sunday’s hosts have lost their last four top-flight outings on the bounce and their continued defensive issues will be a growing headache for Head Coach Yoann Damet. Shipping 33 goals in just their 13 debut MLS matches so far, no team in either the West or the East holds a worse defensive record.

Tip: Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score anytime @ 5/6

20:00 Colombia vs Paraguay

Starting with a resurgent Colombia side, while Los Cafeteros may have seen their World Cup dreams come to an end at the hands of England in the last-16 last summer, the Yellows have enjoyed a very eye-catching start to their Copa America campaign. Picking up a 1-0 win over Qatar earlier in the week and now extending their winning run to four matches on the bounce, they have really started to shine since former Manchester United coach Carlos Queiroz took charge. Including recording a famous 2-0 win over Argentina in their Group B opener and already confirming their spot in the knockout stage of this year’s tournament, it is also worth noting that Colombia have won eight of their 10 post-World Cup appearances. Along with the red-hot Duzan Zapata continuing to shine and scoring the winner in midweek, Queiroz will be most impressed by the Yellows’ newfound defensive resolve. Recording clean sheets in each of their previous four outings, Colombia have now gone over 400 minutes without picking the ball out of their net. As for Paraguay, while they may have managed to secure back-to-back draws and still be dreaming of a route out of Group B, Los Guaraníes have managed to pick up just one win in their last 10 appearances, a run that stems all the way back to October 2017.

Tip: Colombia win @ 17/10

20:0 Mallorca vs Deportivo La Coruña

Starting with Sunday’s visitors, while Deportivo may have left it late before pinching the last play-off spot in this year’s Segunda campaign, few would have expected Branquiazuis’ stellar run. Putting in another eye-catching display in their 2-0 win over Mallorca in the first leg and holding a commanding advantage as they look to secure a La Liga return, José Luis Martí’s side are enjoying a four-match winning run, including a 1-0 win away at play-off favorites Malaga last week. Also enjoying a six-match unbeaten run and only tasting defeat once since the middle of April, Deportivo will be boosted by their stellar record against Sunday’s hosts. Including their empathic victory in midweek, La Coruña have won each of their previous four meetings against Mallorca, including a 3-2 win away at the Iberostar Estadi back in March. With the mood in their camp the highest it has been in recent memory, there is no doubt that Deportivo should be looking to capitalize on Mallorca’s sluggish end to the year. Los Bermellones have lost back-to-back appearances and also find themselves on a run that has seen them pick up just one win in their last six matchups.

Tip: Deportivo La Coruña draw no bet @ 6/4
