24th August: Saturday’s Premier League Accumulator – 12/1

With a busy Saturday afternoon from across the Premier League, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your weekend acca:

Saturday 24th August

BST 12:30 Norwich City vs Chelsea

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, coming off the back of putting on an eye-catching display in their 3-1 win against Newcastle at Carrow Road last weekend, Norwich have impressed following their Premier League return. With their sights firmly set on securing top-flight safety come May, Daniel Farke’s attacking approach has impressed many around East Anglia. Carrying on with their bright form on home soil that helped them clinch the Championship title by five points last season, one man who has really epitomized Norwich’s start to the year has been red-hot attacking talisman Teemu Pukki. Bagging a hat-trick against Newcastle last time out, the Finland international already has four top-flight goals to his name, including finding the net against Liverpool a fortnight ago. Also bagging 29 Championship goals last season and claiming the Golden Boot, Pukki should be optimistic of extending his free-scoring start on Saturday. With Chelsea managing to just scrape a 1-1 draw at home to Leicester last weekend, Frank Lampard’s side have shown some signs of a struggle since the former England midfielder arrived over the summer. Including their 4-0 defeat away at Old Trafford on their opening contest, the former champions have failed to record a single clean sheet in any of their last eight contests.

Tip: Teemu Pukki to score anytime @ 6/4

15:00 Manchester United vs Crystal Palace

Although Manchester United would have been disappointed to have only grabbed a 1-1 draw away at Wolves on Monday night, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has plenty of positives to take away from his sides start to the season. Desperate to secure a top-four return for Old Trafford this year, the former champions will also be boosted by their very eye-catching 4-0 win over Chelsea on the opening weekend. With the Norweigan icon handing United a new attacking identity and really starting to shine in the final third, one man to watch on Saturday will be the in-form Anthony Martial. Forming an eye-catching partnership with Marcus Rashford, the Frenchman bagged his 50th strike for United at Molineux on Monday and has now scored in back-to-back Premier League appearances. While Saturday’s hosts might be enjoying a bright start to the year, the same cannot be said for a struggling Palace outfit. Suffering a 1-0 loss away at a returning Sheffield United last weekend, Roy Hodgson’s men are still searching for their first victory of the season and are the only side in the top-flight who are yet to record a single strike so far. Also hammered 4-0 by Hertha Berlin in their final pre-season outing, Saturday could prove to be another extremely tough afternoon for the former England boss.

Tip: Anthony Martial to score anytime @ 6/5

15:00 Brighton vs Southampton

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, while Brighton may have managed to only take a point off of West Ham at the Amex last weekend, the Seagulls largely dominated the game and new boss Graham Potter has been impressed by his sides start to the year. Really enjoying a new lease of life since the former Swansea boss arrived over the summer, they will also be boosted by their very impressive 3-0 win away at Watford on the opening weekend. Desperate to secure their top-flight status more empathically this season, Brighton are yet to taste defeat since Potter’s arrival and fans on the South Coast should be confident of their side extending their unbeaten run this weekend. As for Saturday’s guests, although Southampton may have managed to keep Liverpool quiet for large spells of the first half, the Saints could only slump to a 2-1 defeat at St. Mary’s and have now lost each of their opening two Premier League outings. Including a 3-0 hammering away at Burnley on the opening weekend, Head Coach Ralph Hasenhüttl has a real headache on his hands.

Tip: Brighton win @ 7/5
