While Swindon would have been disappointed to have only snatched a point away at play-off contenders Forest Green last weekend, it has been quite the run of form for the League Two leaders. Holding a three-point buffer at the top of the table and seen to be a clear favorite for a third-tier return next year, the mood in Richie Wellens’ camp continues to soar and the Reds are in the midst of an eight-match unbeaten run that stems back to the 19th of October. Undoubtedly, a huge part of Swindon’s title charge this season has come down to the scintillating form of leading marksman and League Two sensation, Eoin Doyle. Knowing that three points on Thursday could see them leapfrog Barrow to top spot, the Boxing Day hosts are unbeaten in their last seven appearances, a run that stems back to the 16th of November. With their sights firmly set on retaining their Football League status come next year, one man to keep an eye out for in midweek will be leading marksman, Rhys Evans. With no player in the National League recording more goals than the 29-year-old this season, the former Arsenal trainee has also bagged six goals in his last five appearances and should be relishing Torquay’s trip to Somerset on Boxing Day. Despite their bright start to the new campaign, former Yeovil boss Gary Johnson has seen his side freefall away from the play-off positions and are now in the midst of a six-match losing run in England’s fifth-tier.
