26th October: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 9/1

With a busy Saturday of footballing action from across England, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your weekend acca:

Saturday 26th October

BST 15:00 Middlesbrough vs Fulham

Starting with Saturday’s guests, after holding off a late rally by Luton in West London on Wednesday night, Fulham boss Scott Parker would have been glad to see his side make a return to winning ways in midweek. With only their goal difference keeping them outside of the play-offs, the Whites have their sights firmly set on mounting a promotion charge this season. Losing just one of their last eight Championship appearances, a run that stems back to the 24th of August, one man who has continued to shine for Fulham this season is the red-hot Aleksandar Mitrović. Bagging a hat-trick against Luton in midweek, the Serbian international has now scored eight goals in his last five matches for club and country. Also already bagging 11 Championship strikes this season, Fulham’s leading marksman should be confident of extending that tally on Saturday. While Parker’s men might be enjoying a battle in the top half of the standings, Middlesbrough find themselves in a very different position. Only snatching a point off of fellow relegation scrappers Huddersfield on Wednesday, new Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate has seen his side now fail to win any of their last six Championship contests, including a 4-1 hammering at home against Sheffield Wednesday last month.

Tip: Aleksandar Mitrović to score anytime @ 13/10

15:00 Grimsby vs Cheltenham

Putting in arguably a season-best display and picking up a 3-0 win over Macclesfield in midweek, Cheltenham are enjoying what has been a stellar purple patch. Climbing into the automatic positions in League Two and knowing another victory this weekend could see them leapfrog Crewe to top spot, Michael Duff’s men have now won their last three matches across all competitions and are enjoying an unbeaten run that stems back to the 3rd of September. Undoubtedly the in-form side in England’s fourth-tier, Saturday’s guests have won seven of their last nine appearances and have continued to shine outside of Gloucestershire. Cheltenham are enjoying a four-match unbeaten run away from a high-flying Jonny-Rocks Stadium and it should be noted that they have won three of those matchups. With the mood in their camp the highest it has been in recent memory, Duff’s men should see Saturday’s trip to Grimsby as a golden opportunity to extend their purple patch. Quickly free-falling down the League two standings Saturday’s hosts have failed to win any of their last five matches across all competitions, losing four of those appearances. It should also be noted that Grimsby have lost back-to-back matches at Blundell Park, including a 4-0 hammering at home against Leyton Orient earlier in the month.

Tip: Cheltenham draw no bet @ 11/10

15:00 Boreham Wood vs  AFC Flyde

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, while Boreham Wood may have seen their FA Cup dream come to an end last weekend, they are enjoying an eye-catching run in England’s fifth-tier. Climbing into the top half of the table and dreaming of mounting a play-off charge, Luke Garrard’s men have won three of their last four appearances in the National League and they have continued to shine at Meadow Park. The Wood have also won three of their last four matches in Hertfordshire, including a 4-0 win over Stockport last month. Handed the chance to climb as high as fifth this weekend, there is no doubt that Saturday’s hosts should be confident of extending their recent resurge on home soil. While Boreham Wood might be enjoying a battle in the top half of the table, Flyde have continued on what has been an extremely sluggish start to the 2019/2020 campaign. Despite reaching the play-offs last season, Dave Challinor’s men have now lost their last four National League matches on the bounce and find themselves sat in the drop zone. Also losing their last four matches on the road, we’re backing a home victory this weekend.

Tip: Boreham Wood win @ 11/10
