With the January transfer window set to expire next Tuesday, rumors and done-deals are seemingly increasing by the hour.
The likelihood of a ‘big move’ occurring is not high at the moment, but you never know for certain. So let’s get started.
Juventus
Serie A giant’s Juventus are set to sign Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres from Sevilla pending a medical.
The transfer fee will total a reported €9.5 million.
“I’m looking forward to working with coach Conte,” he told Sky Italia.
“He really wanted me. I’ve not spoken to my former team-mates but I know Giorgio Chiellini is waiting to welcome me there.
“I really want to help them to battle for the Scudetto.”
Bolton Wanderers
According to Sky Sports, Bolton have made an official approach for 19-year-old Crystal Palace starlet Wilfried Zaha.
In 2011-12, Zaha has totaled five goals and five assists in 32 games for Palace.
In the past, a bevy of Premier League clubs have shown interest in Zaha, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Stoke City, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers.
Lazio
Japan international Keisuke Honda has expressed his desire to move to Lazio before the January transfer window closes.
Honda currently plays in Russia for CSKA Moscow, where he has scored seven goals in 21 appearances in 2011-12.
“I want to go to Lazio,” Honda told Nikkan Sports. “I’m confident over my transfer.
“The clubs are in the final phase of negotiations, but I’ve have not found an agreement yet with the club.
Fenerbahce
Turkish giants Fenerbahce have landed talented Lille front-man Moussa Sow.
Sow, a 26-year-old Senegalese international, has netted nine goals and three assists in 24 games in all competitions for Lille OSC in 2011-12.
“I received many offers, however Fenerbahce appealed to me the most. The club showed a lot of interest in me and I was convinced that Fenerbahce was the best decision for me,” Sow told Fenerbahce’s official website.
“I can’t wait to play in front of the famous Fenerbahce fans. I have heard all about their support and can even hear them chanting now.”
Chelsea
After having his initial £16.5million offer for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Willian rejected, Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly no longer pursuing the Brazilian, who has a £29 million release clause in his contract.
On Thursday, Willian expressed his desire to move to Chelsea, but a move for the player seems unlikely at the moment.
“Willian is an extremely interesting player but I don’t think we will progress with our interest because of different issues, from work permit to price valuation,” said Villas-Boas.
“I think our project next year is more important than the actual project at the moment. Not that Willian doesn’t have the characteristics for the future but we are betting a lot on what we can build on for next year.”
