27th April: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 20/1

With a hectic Saturday of footballing action from across the globe, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your weekend acca:

Saturday 27th April

BST 12:30 Tottenham vs West Ham

While Tottenham may have left it late against Brighton on Tuesday night, Spurs’ 1-0 win now leaves Mauricio Pochettino’s side in pole position to secure a top four finish. Sat third in the table and holding a four-point buffer over the chasing pack, they also have a Champions League semi-final on the horizon later this month. One area most impressing fans in North London will be their start to life in their new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Lilywhites have won their opening four matches in their new home, including picking up a 1-0 win over Manchester City earlier in the month. Even more impressive, Pochettino’s side are yet to concede a single goal in front of their own supporters since making the move from Wembley. Given West Ham’s inconsistent run at the end of the season, Tottenham should be confident of extending their top four advantage this weekend. While Manuel Pellegrini’s men may have been unjustly denied three points against Leicester last weekend, a huge part of the Hammers’ struggles has been their performances away from the London Stadium. Saturday’s visitors have lost their last four Premier League matches on the road and are yet to pick up a single away victory in 2019. With Spurs picking up a 1-0 win over West Ham when the two sides met back in October, we’re backing a similar result this weekend.

Tip: Tottenham win and under 3.5 goals @ 6/4

14:30 Borussia Dortmund vs Schalke

Although Borussia Dortmund may have surrendered their spot at the top of the Bundesliga, Saturday’s hosts appear to have re-found their form. Coming off the back of another impressive display in their 4-0 win away at Freiburg last weekend, Lucien Farve’s side have won their last two matches since their 5-0 hammering against Bayern Munich earlier in the month. Along with now winning their last three top-flight matches in rural Germany, a huge part in BVB’s title charge has been their form in the final third. Scoring two or more goals in each of their previous victories on home soil, one man to watch on Saturday will be the red-hot Jadon Sancho. Enjoying a breakout year in the Bundesliga, the now England international once again found the net away at Freiburg last time out. Even more impressive, the 18-year-old sensation has three in his last two appearances. While Dortmund might be enjoying a battle at the top of the table, Schalke are still enduring their own battle at the other end. Holding just a five-point buffer over the drop zone they’re also coming off the back of another worrying display in their 5-2 hammering at home to Hoffenheim. Picking up just one win in their last 12 matches across all competitions, the Blues have also recorded just a single clean sheet on the road since the middle of October.

Tip: Jadon Sancho to score anytime @ 7/5

17:30 Brighton vs Newcastle

Starting with Saturday’s visitors, putting in another very eye-catching display in their 3-1 win over Southampton last week, few would have expected Newcastle’s resurge at the back end of the season. Now winning their last two Premier League outings on the bounce, including a 1-0 win away at Leicester earlier in the month, Rafa Benitez’s side have climbed up to 13th and are looking to mount a very surprising push for the top half of the table. One man who has really epitomized Newcastle’s recent revival is the in-form Ayoze Perez. Picking up a hat-trick against the Saints last time out, the 25-year-old has now bagged four goals in his last two outings, including the winner at the King Power a fortnight ago. While Newcastle are enjoying a late purple patch, the same cannot be said for a struggling Brighton side. Suffering a 1-0 loss away at Tottenham in midweek, Chris Hughton’s men hold just a three-point buffer over the drop zone and have now failed to win any of their last seven matches across all competitions, losing six of those contests. Along with now losing their last three matches at the Amex, it has been their continued struggles in the final third giving Hughton the biggest headache. Brighton have now failed to find the net in any of their last seven matches and have not scored a goal on home soil since the 2nd of March.

Tip: Newcastle win @ 13/5
