27th April: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 9/1

With the 2020/21 campaign quickly drawing to a close, we have another stacked midweek schedule from up and down the country. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Tuesday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for this week.

Tuesday 27th April

BST 19:00 Cheltenham Town vs Carlisle United

Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, while Cheltenham might have been hit with that 1-0 defeat away at Crawley earlier in the month, The Robins have really bounced back in some style. With the mood in their camp at a real high and building off of Cambridge’s slip-up over the weekend, Michael Duff’s side have found a route back to the top of the League Two table. Knowing that they’re now within striking distance of securing an automatic route out of England’s fourth-tier, The Reds were last seen on Saturday landing a deserved 1-0 win against Colchester on home soil. Along with claiming back-to-back victories and mustering nine points from their last four League Two matchups, it should also be noted that Cheltenham have lost just one of their last six contests. Smelling what is a real chance in midweek, there is no doubt that Tuesday’s hosts should be boosted by their continued success at The Jonny-Rocks Stadium. Including a thumping 4-0 win against Tranmere earlier in the month, Duff’s side have won each of their last four straight contests on home soil, recording a clean sheet in each of those victories. On the flip side, once again having to settle for a 1-1 draw against League Two debutants Harrogate Town over the weekend, Carlisle have really struggled to pick up maximum points with any stability. Without a win in their last five contests, it should be noted that the midweek guests have won just one of their last 10 straight away fixtures, a run that stems back to the start of January.

Tip: Cheltenham Town win 11/10

19:45 Peterborough United vs Doncaster Rovers

Managing to make an immediate return to winning ways over the weekend, Peterborough know that another victory on Tuesday night could see them secure a Championship return for next season. Landing a 1-0 win away at play-off outsiders Charlton Athletic on Saturday afternoon, The Posh find themselves holding a commanding nine-point buffer in the top-two with just a handful of matchups remaining. Collecting nine points from their last four League One showdowns and looking to lay down a similar marker on home soil this week, it should also be noted that The Blues have lost just a single third-tier matchup in any of their last seven contests. With their recent run highlighted by that stunning 7-0 romp against Accrington Stanley last month, there is no doubt that Darren Ferguson will be calling on the red-hot Jonson Clarke-Harris to spearhead their charge. Bagging the winner against Charlton last time out, the 26-year-old has now recorded eight goals in just his last nine contests. More impressive, with 29 goals so far this season, the former Bristol Rovers striker currently leads the race for the Golden Boot. On the flip side, while Peterborough might be flying high, the same cannot be said for a struggling Doncaster. Suffering a 1-0 defeat at home against Fleetwood last time out, Tuesday’s guests have remarkably lost seven of their last eight League One matchups. More worrying, freefalling out the top half of the table, The Rovers have landed themselves just a single win in any of their last 12 straight contests, a run that stems back to the start of March.

Tip: Jonson Clarke-Harris to score anytime & Peterborough United win @ 21/20

19:45 Bromley vs Chesterfield

For our final Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to the National League and what could turn out to be a crucial meeting in the race for the play-offs. Managing to eventually snatch that most dramatic of 2-1 victories away at fellow top-seven outfit Halifax over the weekend, Bromely have really found a purple patch at what is a vital time. Now finding themselves sat in pole position to clinch a play-off spot this season, The Whites have won each of their last four fifth-tier matchups on the spin. Collecting some notable scalps on their recent charge, it should also be noted that The Ravens have bagged themselves eight strikes in just their last three contests. With just a single defeat on home soil since the end of January, it’s well worth keeping an eye out for leading marksman Michael Cheek this week. Once again finding the net against Halifax last time out, the 29-year-old has got himself on the scoresheet in each of his last four matchups on the spin. On the flip side, while Bromley might be hitting form at a vital time, Chesterfield are a side who are really seeking some kind of boost. Eventually having to settle for a 0-0 stalemate against Wrexham over the weekend, Tuesday’s guests have failed to bounce back from those back-to-back defeats earlier in the month. More worrying, mustering just a pair of points from their last four National League matchups, they could be concerned by their most recent meeting against Bromley. Hit with a 2-1 defeat when they faced off against the leading play-off contenders on April 17th, we’re backing a similar home victory in midweek.

Tip: Bromely win @ 6/4
