The final weekend in January is expected to deliver premium excitement as we’ve got FA Cup 4th round, AFCON quarter-finals and numerous exciting matches in Europe’s top leagues ahead of us, so we have prepared a longshot football accumulator that may be worth taking with small stakes. Alternatively, you can pick the suggestions you like and only bet on those, but here is what we will be staking our money on.
Friday 27th January
20:55 CET Derby County vs Leicester City
Steve McClaren’s Derby County have been thoroughly impressive at their iPro Stadium of late, winning seven of last nine matches there (D2), and keeping amazing eight clean sheets in the process. The Rams will not be lacking motivation for the FA Cup clash against Leicester City, who are going through a very rough patch at the moment. The Foxes have suffered two 3-0 defeats in a row, they’ve got Mahrez, Slimani and Amartey missing and Claudio Ranieri is expected to field a weakened side with an eye on the Premier League fixture against Burnley. Therefore, we see excellent value in backing Derby County to win in ninety minutes.
Tip: home win @19/10
Saturday 28th January
20:00 CET Senegal vs Cameroon
Led by the former Premier League midfielder Aliou Cisse, Senegal are the only top side to have impressed at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and they have now emerged as the favourites for the trophy. The Teranga Lions recorded 2-0 wins over Tunisia and Zimbabwe, before their second-string side earned a 2-2 draw with Algeria, so we definitely believe they can extend the excellent run against Cameroon, who haven’t exactly lived up to the expectations.
Tip: home win @23/20
17:00 CET Lyon vs Lille
Winning eight of last ten Ligue 1 fixtures, Lyon have seriously improved their top 3 chances and buoyed by the 3-1 triumph over Marseille, les Gones will be looking to pile more misery on sorry Lille. With Alexandre Lacazette scoring in 6 successive games (8 goals) and Mathieu Valbuena seriously raising his form, Lyon should have no problems defeating Lille at their Parc OL.
Tip: home win @9/20
18:00 Lazio vs Chievo
Lazio have done pretty well this season, especially at their Stadio Olimpico, but the 2-0 loss to Juventus was definitely a major blow to the players’ confidence, who will now struggle to take the game to Chievo, especially given that top scorer Ciro Immobile (11 goals) is banned for the Saturday’s game. The Flying Donkeys have failed to score in 8 of last 14 matches and with top scorer Sergio Pellissier missing alongside Bostjan Cesar and Riccardo Meggiorini, they will be perfectly happy to defend for their lives at Stadio Olimpico.
Tip: under 2.5 goals @4/5
Sunday 29th January
15:00 Sampdoria vs AS Roma
Sampdoria are going through a very rough patch at the moment, having suffered five defeats in last seven matches (D2), while they also failed to score in four of last five fixtures. This is, therefore, the worst possible time to be facing red-hot AS Roma, who have won five straight games since the narrow defeat to leaders Juventus, keeping a clean sheet in last four of those wins. Hence, away win looks like a good choice here.
Tip: away win @3/4
17:00 CET Congo DR vs Ghana
Congo DR are one of the surprise packages of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, but we believe their journey does not end here. The Leopards have beaten Morocco (1-0) and Togo (3-1) in the group stage, while sharing spoils with Ivory Coast (2-2), and we believe they can make life difficult for Ghana as well. The Black Stars may have several star players in their ranks, but their performances have been pretty disappointing and having struggled against Uganda, Mali and Egypt, we don’t think they can show a great deal of improvement in the quarter-finals, when the pressure will be even greater.
Tip: Congo DR not to lose @7/10
