29th December: Sunday’s Football Accumulator – 7/1

With a hectic Sunday afternoon from across Britain’s footballing tiers, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your weekend acca:

Sunday 29th December

BST 15:00 Birmingham vs Leeds

Starting with Sunday’s guests, after having to snatch an 89th-minute equalizer at home against Preston earlier in the week, Leeds find themselves in the midst of their most testing run of the new Championship campaign. Failing to win any of their last three matchups and collecting just two points out of a possible nine, Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa is desperate for his side to find some stability and keep the control of their eight-point buffer from slipping out of the automatic positions. While the promotion favorites might be in the midst of a minor rut, Leeds know that three points on Sunday could see them reclaim their spot at the top of the table and there is no doubt that Bielsa will be calling on leading marksman Patrick Bamford to lead their charge this weekend. Scoring double the amount of Championship strikes compared to the rest of Leeds’ squad, the former Chelsea starlet has 10 goals to his name nearing closer to 2020 and the forward has now bagged three goals in his last three appearances. With Birmingham enduring a woeful run that has seen them free-fall down the table, Bamford should be confident of extending his tally. Failing to win any of their last four and losing three of those contests, it should also be noted that the Blues have not recorded a victory in the Midlands since the end of October.

Tip: Patrick Bamford to score anytime @ 6/5

15:00 Fulham vs Stoke

While Fulham may have shocked many across the Championship by snatching three points off of Leeds last weekend, Scot Parker’s side once again failed to cash in on Boxing Day. Despite the former Premier League outfit still opening Sunday’s contest in fifth and sat in pole position to clinch a play-off spot, the Whites have won just one of their last five appearances. However, while fans in West London might have been disappointed to have seen their side only snatch a point off of relegation scrappers Luton on Boxing Day, there is no doubt that Parker will be ecstatic by the on-going success of leading marksman and attacking talisman, Aleksandar Mitrovic. Once again finding the net against the Hatters earlier in the week, the Serbian international has continued to shine this season. Leading the race for the Golden Boot with 18 Championship strikes this campaign, the one-time Newcastle striker has also recorded 10 goals in his last 10 matchups, including bagging back-to-back strikes. While Stoke may have battled to pick up what was the most dramatic of victories over Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day, new boss Micheal O’Neil is still dealing with some glaring issues at the back. Still at the heart of their own relegation battle, Sunday’s guests have shipped at least a pair of goals in four of their last six appearances and have failed to record a single Championship clean sheet on the road all season.

Tip: Aleksandar Mitrovic to score anytime @ 11/10

15:00 Motherwell vs Hamilton

Starting with Sunday’s hosts, battling to pick up another three points away at Ross County earlier in the week, Motherwell find themselves enjoying what has been quite the purple patch heading into 2020. Aside from a 2-0 defeat against title contenders Rangers a fortnight ago, Steve Robinson’s men have won five of their last six contests and still find themselves sat in that lucrative third spot. With the mood around Fir Park at a continued high and dreaming of securing what would be a stunning European return, a huge part of Motherwell’s recent resurge has come thanks to their performances on home soil. Also winning four of their last five matches in front of their own supporters, a run highlighted by a 4-0 victory over St. Johnstone last month, there is no doubt that the Steelmen should be relishing Hamilton’s arrival this weekend. Missing out on a golden opportunity to land back-to-back wins after suffering a 1-0 defeat against fellow strugglers St. Johnstone earlier in the week, Sunday’s guests have now lost four of their last five Premiership appearances and are on a run of form that has seen them land just a single victory since the 28th of September. With Motherwell picking up a 3-1 victory when the two sides faced off back in August, we’re backing a similar outcome on Sunday afternoon.

Tip: Motherwell win and over 1.5 goals @ 5/6

Birmingham vs Leeds – Patrick Bamford to score anytime @ 6/5
