With the fixtures really starting to pile up, we have a hectic Tuesday of footballing action on the horizon. On that note, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your midweek acca:
Tuesday 2nd April
BST 19:45 Watford vs Fulham
While Watford might be coming off the back of a 2-1 loss away at Manchester United on Saturday, the mood in Javi Garcia’s camp will be on a high. With an FA Cup semi-final to look forward to later this month, the Hornets will also have one eye on bringing Europa League football to Vicarage Road next season and another win on Tuesday could see them climb up to seventh in the table. A huge part of their ongoing success this year has undoubtedly been their form on home soil. Picking up three consecutive home victories over Crystal Palace, Leicester and Everton, Watford are yet to be beaten at Vicarage Road in 2019. One man really starting to shine at the back end of the season is former Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu. Enjoying arguably his brightest spell in North London, the 25-year-old has bagged four top-flight goals in his last five appearances. Up against a Fulham side on the verge of relegation, Deulofeu should be confident of extending his goalscoring run. Slumping to a 2-0 loss at home to Manchester City on Saturday, Scott Parker’s men have lost their last nine Premier League matches on the bounce and another defeat on Tuesday will see them relegated. With no team across any of England’s footballing tiers holding a worse defensive record than the Cottagers, we’re backing Deulofeu to find the net in midweek.
Tip: Gerard Deulofeu to score anytime @ 7/4
19:45 Bromley vs Leyton Orient
Although Leyton Orient may have only managed to have taken a point off of Barnet over the weekend, Tuesday’s visitors still remain in pole position to book a return to the football league. Holding a one-point buffer at the top of the National League, the Reds are currently enjoying a nine-match unbeaten run and have won eight of those contests. Looking to extend their advantage over Salford, Justin Edinburgh will be most impressed by his sides ongoing resolve away from the Breyer Group Stadium. The O’s are unbeaten in their last five matches on the road and have also lost just one league away fixture since Boxing Day. Also picking up a 3-1 win when they faced Bromley back in November, Edinburgh will be filled with confidence ahead of Tuesday’s contest. With Bromley suffering a 2-1 loss away at Salford over the weekend, they have really started to show some cause for concern at the back end of the season. Freefalling out of the top half of the National League table, Neil Smith’s side have recorded just one victory in their last six matchups, that win also came against the already relegated Braintree. Also failing to win either of their home matches in March, we’re backing another tough nights work for a Bromley side low on confidence.
Tip: Away win @ 21/20
19:45 AFC Flyde vs Dagenham & Redbridge
Booking their spot in the final of this year’s FA Trophy, AFC Flyde are enjoying another eye-catching campaign in the National League. Firmly on course to book another season in the playoffs, Tuesday’s hosts hold a three-point buffer from slipping out of the top seven. Picking up a point away at Aldershot over the weekend, Dave Challinor’s side will be glad to make a return to Lancashire in midweek. With their sights firmly set on securing a spot in League Two this year, their ongoing form at the Mill Farm Stadium has played a huge part in their promotion push. Flyde are enjoying a five-match unbeaten run at home, winning four of those contests. The have also remarkably lost just one contest in front of their own supporters since the 3rd of November. One man to watch on Tuesday will be the National League’s leading goalscorer, Danny Rowe. Already bagging 25 league goals this campaign, the 29-year-old also has six in his last nine appearances. While Flyde might be enjoying a bright run of form, the same cannot be said for a struggling Dagenham & Redbridge side. Coming off the back of a 2-0 loss away at Chesterfield on Saturday, Tuesday’s visitors have lost their last three matches on the bounce and have conceded two or more goals in each of those defeats. Sat way down in 19th and failing to win any of their last six matches on the road, we’re backing a comfortable evening for the hosts.
