Including that 3-1 romp away at Southampton last week, Tuesday’s guests have won each of their last three top-flight contests away from the Emirates and they should be looking to extend on their purple patch in midweek. Eventually getting hit with a sluggish 1-0 loss against Crystal Palace in the capital over the weekend, Wolves find themselves in the midst of an extended blip. Still battling it out in the bottom-half of the table, the Oranges have failed to win any of their last eight Premier League matchups on the bounce, a run that stems back to the middle of December. With their recent issues highlighted by that stunning 3-2 defeat at home against bitter rivals West Brom, we’re backing a similar away victory on Tuesday evening.

Putting in another professional display over the weekend and landing a deserved 1-0 victory at home against Fleetwood, there is no doubt that Oxford should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Despite showing a host of issues when opening the 2020/21 campaign, the Yellows have skyrocketed their way up the League One table and some have now tipped them as a leading contender in the play-off chase. Enjoying what has been by far their most fruitful run of the season so far, Karl Robinson’s men have continued on what has been nothing short of a stunning winning run. Including that 1-0 victory at home against Fleetwood over the weekend, the former MK Dons boss has seen his side win each of their last eight straight matchups across all formats. More impressive, Tuesday’s hosts are unbeaten in any competition since way back on November 28th. With their stellar purple patch highlighted by a 2-0 win against their midweek guests on Boxing Day, a high-flying Oxford should be smelling a golden chance to lay down another marker at the Kassam Stadium. Continuing to impress at both ends of the pitch, a struggling AFC Wimbledon should face another stern test on Tuesday. Getting hit with a sluggish 2-0 loss at home against MK Dons, the Wombles have dropped into the League One relegation zone and they have failed to win any of their last five contests, losing four of those appearances. With just a single win to their name since the start of December, we’re backing a similar home victory for a high-flying Oxford in midweek.

Starting with Tuesday’s guests, eventually managing to pick up a dramatic late 3-2 win away at fellow play-off chasers Halifax over the weekend, Maidenhead have really impressed many across the National League. Despite only just about hanging onto their fifth-tier status last season, Alan Devonshire’s men firmly have a top-seven finish at the top of their agenda. Likely to still be boosted by that eye-catching performance on Saturday, the Magpies know that victory in midweek could see them skyrocket to as high as second in the table. With their recent purple patch highlighted by that stunning 4-0 romp against Wealdstone when they faced off against Tuesday’s opponents back on Boxing Day, Maidenhead have collected 10 points from their last four National League contests. With a growing reputation for their performances in the final third and also hitting Yeovil for four last week, Devonshire’s men have lost just a pair of their last 14 fifth-tier contests. On the flip side, eventually getting hit with a deserved 2-0 defeat against Altrincham over the weekend, Wealdstone find themselves enduring a National League nightmare. Freefalling down the table and losing each of their last four fifth-tier matchups on the bounce, they could also be haunted by their Boxing Day showdown against the Magpies.
