2nd March: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 10/1

With a busy Saturday of action from across England’s footballing tiers, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your weekend acca:

Saturday 2nd March

BST 15:00 Wolves vs Cardiff

Coming off the back of their surprise 1-0 loss away at Huddersfield in midweek, there is no doubt that Nuno Espírito Santo will be calling for an immediate response. Still firmly believing that they can secure European football on their return to the Premier League, Wolves will be glad to make a return to Molineux on Saturday afternoon. Last year’s Championship winners are unbeaten in their last five matches in the Midlands, winning four of those contests. Along with booking their spot in quarterfinals of this year’s FA Cup, Santo will be looking for leading goalscorer Raul Jimenez to carry on his impressive campaign. Finding the net at the Vitality last weekend, the 27-year-old has now scored four goals in his last five top-flight appearances. More impressive, Jimenez has directly contributed to 43% of Wolves goals this season. With Cardiff appearing to slip back to their old ways, the Mexican international should be confident of extending that tally on Saturday. Neil Warnock’s side are coming off the back of a 3-0 hammering at home to Everton have now shipped eight goals in their last two outings. Still yet to record an away clean sheet in 2019, we’re backing Jimenez to find the net this weekend.

Tip: Raul Jimenez to score anytime @ 13/10

15:00 Millwall vs Norwich

Picking up a 3-2 win over playoff contenders Bristol City last weekend and reclaiming their spot at the top of the Championship table, the mood in Norwich’s camp couldn’t be any higher. With the chance to extend their two-point buffer, Daniel Frake’s side have won four of their last five and have lost just one league matchup in 2019. Putting four past Millwall when the two sides met back in November, the former Borussia Dortmund coach will be looking for his side to carry on their lethal run of form in the final third. Now holding the best-attacking record in the second-tier, one man who has really spearheaded Norwich’s promotion push is leading goalscorer Teemu Pukki. Bagging a brace in his last matchup away from Carrow Road, the Finish international has already scored 27 goals this season, including eight in his last seven. This weekend, Norwich will come up against a Millwall side who still find themselves firmly at the heart of a relegation battle. Despite booking their spot in the quarterfinals of this year’s FA Cup, the Lions have lost their last two league matches on the bounce and their form in South London will be a growing concern for Neil Harris. Millwall have failed to win any of their last four matches at the Den and they have also failed to register a single goal in any of those outings.

Tip: Away win @ 21/20

15:00 Grimsby vs Cambridge

While Grimsby might have been disappointed to have only picked up a point against Swindon last weekend, Saturday’s hosts are enjoying quite the resurge in League Two. Now unbeaten in their last five appearances and winning four of those contests, the mood in Michael Jolley’s camp is on a season high. Despite being sat seven points adrift of pulling off a surprise playoff push, the Mariners should be confident of extending their unbeaten run Blundell Park. Grimsby have now won their last three matches in Lincolnshire, including a 1-0 win over title dark horses MK Dons last month. One man to watch for the hosts this weekend will be leading goalscorer Wes Thomas. The 32-year-old has bagged two in his last three and has scored five goals in his last seven matches at Blundell Park. While Grimsby might be enjoying a stellar resurge, the same can not be said for Cambridge. Holding just a three-point buffer over the drop zone and coming off the back of a 1-0 loss away at Yeovil, Saturday’s visitors have recorded just one win since the middle of January. More worrying for Colin Calderwood, his side have scored just a single goal in over 450 minutes of action.

Tip: Home win @ 11/8
