3 possible destinations for Harry Kane this summer

Although the Premier League campaign might only be getting back underway following the enforced break, there is no doubt that clubs up and down the country will be drawing up their summer transfer list.

With it confirmed on Thursday that German marksman Timo Werner will make the move to Stamford Bridge next month, there still remains plenty of speculation surrounding another star striker.

Making his return on Friday night and watching Manchester United snatch a late point in North London, Harry Kane is a player who has had a string of question marks surrounding his future.

Refusing to rule out a potential move away from Jose Mourinho’s side in an interview with Sky Sports back in March, Kane said: “I’ve always said if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I’m not someone to just stay there for the sake of it.”.

With his comments putting teams from across Europe on red alert, Kane certainly isn’t short of admirers from across the continent and Spurs could be bracing themselves for a testing summer.

If the England skipper is fancying a change of scenery after over a decade in the capital, where could Kane end up according to the bookmakers?

1. Real Madrid – 7/1 with 888sport

With Daniel Levy making it abundantly clear that he would have no intention of selling Kane to one of Spurs’ Premier League rivals, could the 26-year-old fancy a trip abroad?

Watching former Tottenham and England teammate Kieran Trippier make the move from North London to the Spanish capital last year, Real Madrid have long been an admirer of the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot winner.

Heavily linked with a potential swoop for Kane back in 2018, club president Florentino Perez has previously done successful business with Levy after bringing both Gareth Bale and Luka Modrić to Madrid.

Despite Karim Benzema sitting only behind Lionel Messi in the La Liga charts with 14 goals this season, the Frenchman will be 33 later this year and his tenure at Madrid does seem to be drawing to a close.

With it also appearing that wantaway Serbian international Luka Jovic could be inching closer to a San Siro switch, Zinedine Zidane will be calling on Perez to invest in a new number 9 this summer, especially after breaking the bank to bring in Eden Hazard last year.

Although Micheal Owen’s disastrous spell in the capital might still live in Spanish folk law, could Kane be the next Spurs star to swap North London for the Bernabéu?

2. Manchester United – 3/1 with Bet365

Football is a funny old game and as we all know, money talks.

Not even 72 hours on from watching United snatch a late point on Friday night, could Kane be tempted with a trip up North?

While Levy might have made his stance on selling Kane to another Premier League outfit clear, the Reds have been heavily linked with the English marksman since opening 2020.

Expected to break the bank this summer after bringing in new Old Trafford icon Bruno Fernandes back in January, it has been no secret that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the market for a new number nine.

Although the Red Devils may have managed to extend Odion Ighalo’s loan deal from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua, United are looking for someone who can offer them 20+ goals per season.

While Romelu Lukaku’s brief spell in Manchester may not have gone to plan, Kane has proven himself as arguably the most prolific marksmen in the Premier League and many around Old Trafford would be ecstatic if they could secure his signature.

With Anthony Martial still struggling to cement his spot as United’s leading man, many around Old Trafford also believe that England international Marcus Rashford is better deployed from out wide.

Also heavily linked with another Three Lions’ star in the form of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, could an all English trio of Kane, Rashford and Sancho be enough to spearhead a United title charge?

3. Juventus – 33/1 with 888sport

Watching former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku enjoying a stellar debut year at Inter Milan following a switch from Old Trafford, Kane could also be eyeing up a potential Serie A move.

Still struggling to find their feet under former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri and watching Napoli snatch the Coppa Italia on Wednesday, Juventus have remained heavily linked with the 26-year-old since he announced he could see his future away from Spurs.

With the likes of Mario Mandžukić already leaving Turin and Gonzalo Higuain expected to follow suit, the Italian giants have been open about needing to bolster their attacking options this summer.

If Juventus are serious about bringing the England captain to Turin, then they could be tempted to once again use Paulo Dybala as a bargaining chip.

While the Old Lady might be put off by Kane’s £136million valuation, the Argentinian forward seemed to be on the verge of securing a stunning move to North London on Deadline Day last summer.

However, Spurs failed to strike a deal on Dybala’s imaging rights and could not negotiate a suitable agreement so the deal fell through at the last minute.

With Tottenham still firmly in an uphill battle to secure any form of a European finish this season, could Kane be tempted to go and form what would be an all-star partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo at the Allianz?
