With another stacked schedule on the cards this weekend, we have a host of eye-catching meetings from across Europe on the cards. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have found you a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.
Saturday 30th January
BST 12:30 Norwich City vs Middlesbrough
Starting with the hosts, while Norwich would have been disappointed to have seen their FA Cup run to an end last weekend, the Yellows will be glad to make a return to Championship duties on Saturday lunchtime. Despite losing their Premier League status last summer, Daniel Farke’s men are already seen as a leading contender to book an immediate top-flight return this year. Last seen on second-tier duties when putting in another professional display on home soil, the one-time Borussia Dortmund coach saw his side land a 2-0 win at Carrow Road. Opening up this weekend’s fixtures holding a six-point buffer at the top of the table and winning their last three Championship contests on the bounce, Norwich have lost just one of their last 10 second-tier matchups, a run that stems back to December 2nd. It should also be highlighted that Saturday’s hosts hold a very impressive record in East Anglia. Losing just a single Championship matchup on home soil so far this season, Farke’s men have also mustered 16 points from their last six showdowns at Carrow Road. On the flip side, while Norwich might be enjoying a real Championship purple patch, Middlesbrough find themselves enduring an extended rut. Last seen getting hit with a worrying 3-0 drumming at the hands of Rotherham on home soil, Neil Warnock’s side have slipped away from the play-off spots. In fact, losing four of their last five matchups across all formats, we’re backing a similar home victory this weekend.
Tip: Norwich City win @ 4/5
13:00 Eibar vs Sevilla
Putting in another hugely impressive display while on Copa del Rey duties earlier in the week, Sevilla have continued to impress many across Europe once again this season. Eventually cruising their way to a deserved 3-0 victory against Valencia on home soil, former Spain boss Julen Lopetegui finds his side enjoying a four-match winning run across all competitions and they also have a Champions League knockout tie against Borussia Dortmund on the cards. Really bouncing back from that defeat against league leaders Atletico Madrid earlier in the month, Los Palanganas also have one leading marksman enjoying his own stellar purple patch. Last seen on La Liga duties when picking up another 3-0 victory against Cadiz, it is well worth keeping an eye out for attacking talisman, Youssef En-Nesyri. Along with bagging all three strikes against Cadiz last weekend, the 23-year-old has recorded 17 goals across all formats this season and also has two hat-tricks to his name in January. On the flip side, while Eibar might have snatched a point against Celta Vigo last time out, Los Armeros are desperately seeking some La Liga stability. Still looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, Saturday’s hosts have managed to win just one of their last nine top-flight contests. With just a single La Liga win to their name on home soil all season, we’re backing an away victory for Sevilla this weekend.
Tip: Sevilla win @ 1/1
14:30 Eintracht Frankfurt vs Hertha Berlin
Starting with Saturday’s hosts, while Eintracht Frankfurt might have seen their DFP Pokal run come to an end against Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the month, the Eagles have impressed many on either side of the festive break. Climbing back into the European spots and within striking distance of finding a route into the Champions League positions, Adi Hutter’s side put in another thumping display last weekend. Eventually landing a 5-1 romp away at Bundesliga debutants Arminia Bielefeld on the road, Frankfurt have remarkably collected 16 points from just their last six top-flight matchups. With the likes of Andre Silva and a returning Luka Jovic really spearheading a high-flying Eintracht side, it should also be noted that the hosts have lost just a single Bundesliga contest since way back on October 24th. With a growing reputation for their continued displays in front of goal, Hutter’s men should also be boosted by a very impressive record against Saturday’s guests. Including a 3-1 win when they faced off against Hertha Berlin back in September, Frankfurt have landed back-to-back wins against the Bundesliga strugglers. Still looking over their shoulder at the drop zone and last seen getting hit with a 4-1 drumming against Werder Bremen on home soil, the Old Lady have managed to muster themselves just a single point from their last four top-flight contests on the spin.
