31st May: Friday’s Football Accumulator – 11/1

While Europe’s top-tiers may have drawn to a conclusion, that doesn’t mean we’re short of footballing action from across the globe. On that note, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost you Friday acca:

Friday 31st May

BST 19:45 Dundalk vs Sligo Rovers

Starting with Friday’s hosts, after putting three past UCD on Monday and reaching the semi-finals of this year’s League Cup, the mood in Vinny Perth’s camp will be on a high. With their goal difference helping them reclaim their spot at the top of the Premier Division table, the defending champions are enjoying a real purple patch. Along with their cup victory at Oriel Park earlier in the week, the Reds are enjoying a five-match winning run and are unbeaten in their last 11 appearances, a run that stems back to the 12th of April. Continuing to shine in the final third and now scoring two or more goals in nine of their previous 10 outings, Perth may have some minor concerns over Dundalk’s inability to record a clean sheet, particularly at Oriel Park. Despite their unbeaten record on home soil, they have managed to record just a single clean sheet in their last five matches at home. As for the visitors, while Dundalk might be enjoying a bright run of form, the same can be said for a resurgent Sligo Rovers. Picking up a 2-1 win when they made the trip to Europa League hopefuls Bohemians last weekend, Liam Buckley’s men are enjoying a seven-match unbeaten run and have also begun to shine in the final third. They have registered two or more goals in four of their last five appearances and have now scored seven goals in their last three matches away from The Showgrounds.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 6/4

20:00 Córdoba vs Osasuna

Putting in another very dominant display in their 2-0 win at home to a revitalized Las Palmas last weekend, Osasuna have marched towards a La Liga return and will know that one more victory will confirm their spot as Segunda champions. Continuing to excel under the guidance of former Real Sociedad boss Jagoba Arrasate, Los Rojillos are enjoying a nine-match unbeaten run and have now tasted defeat just once since the 12th of January. While leading goalscorer Juan Villar has spearheaded Osasuna’s charge in the final third, many around the Estadio El Sadar will be most impressed with their sides continued defensive stability. Friday’s visitors have now recorded five consecutive clean sheets in Spain’s second-tier and have not picked the ball out of their net in nearly 500 minutes of actions. While Osasuna have spent the entirety of this year’s campaign battling it out at the top of the table, Córdoba find themselves in a very different position. With two matches remaining and sat 11 points adrift of Segunda safety, Rafael Navarro Rivas’ side are also coming off the back of a lackluster display in their 0-0 draw with fellow strugglers Rayo Majadahonda. With Osasuna picking up an empathic 3-1 win when the two sides met back in October, we’re backing a similar outcome on Friday.

Tip: Osasuna win @ 11/10

Saturday 1st June

03:00 Vancouver Whitecaps vs Toronto FC

Starting with a revitalized Vancouver outfit, coming off the back of another impressive display in their 2-1 win at home to FC Dallas last time out, the mood in Marc Dos Santos’s camp should be on a high. Looking to climb into the play-off positions in the Western Conference, the hosts have lost just one of their last seven appearances and the former LAFC coach will be growing more impressed by his sides’ performances at the BC Place Stadium. Aside from a close-fought 1-0 loss to last year’s MLS champions Atlanta earlier in the month, Santo’s side are unbeaten in their other five matchups in British Columbia, including a 1-0 win over league leaders Los Angeles last month. While Vancouver might be enjoying a bright run of form, the same cannot be said for a Toronto side drastically short of form. Coming off the back of a 2-1 defeat at home to San Jose last weekend, the Reds have lost four of their last five and are without a win since the 4th of May. Picking up a 2-1 win when they last faced off against Toronto in British Columbia back in October, we’re backing a high-flying Whitecaps to come away with the win in the early hours of Saturday.

Tip: Vancouver Whitecaps win @ 7/5
