3rd March: Sunday’s Football Accumulator – 9/1

With a busy Sunday afternoon of action from across Europe, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your weekend acca:

Sunday 3rd March

BST 13:30 Aberdeen vs Rangers

A season riddled with inconsistencies was once again on display for Aberdeen in midweek. Putting in a very poor display in their 2-0 loss at home to a struggling Hamilton side, Derek McInnes’ side now sit 18 points adrift of league leaders Celtic and eight points behind Steven Gerrard’s side. Along with shipping four against Rangers when the two sides met last month, fans around Pittodrie will be growing more concerned by their sides recent record on home soil. Aberdeen have remarkably picked up just one victory in their last seven matches at home, a run that stems back to the middle of December. As for Rangers, while Gerrard’s side might have seen their title ambitions disappear for this season, Sunday’s visitors will have their sights firmly set on lifting the FA Cup this season. Picking up a 4-0 win over Dundee in midweek, some at Ibrox believe the Blues are enjoying their brightest spell of the season. Now winning their last three matches on the bounce, the former England captain has seen his side score 14 and are yet to concede a goal in over 480 minutes of action. Winning six of their last eight matches against Aberdeen, we’re backing a similar result on Sunday afternoon.

Tip: Away win @ 4/5

14:00 Lille vs Dijon

While Lille might not be enjoying their most eye-catching run, Sunday’s hosts have enjoyed a bright campaign and have all but secured Champions League football this season. Sat with a 10-point buffer from slipping out of the top four and currently PSG’s closest contenders, Christophe Galtier will be glad to make a return to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy this weekend. Lille are unbeaten in their last four matches in front of their own supporters, a run that stems back to the middle of December. Conceding just a single goal on their four-match unbeaten run at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Aside from the defending Ligue 1 champions, no other team in France’s top-flight holds a better defensive record. Hosting leading relegation contenders Dijon on Sunday, Galtier should be looking to put in another dominant display at home. The visitors are coming off the back of a 3-0 hammering away at PSG and have now lost their last four matches on the bounce. Sat four points adrift of safety and almost universally tipped for the drop this season, Antoine Kombouaré will be growing more concerned by his sides form in the final third. Dijon have registered just one goal in almost 400 minutes of action.

Tip: Home win to nil @ 11/8

16:15 Everton vs Liverpool

Picking up a 5-0 win over Watford on Wednesday and Liverpool really appearing to refind their attacking form, Jurgen Klopp’s side still remain in pole position to book their first title in the Premier League era. Holding a one-point buffer over Manchester City, the former Borrusia Dortmund coach will be most impressed by the Reds’ ongoing defensive resolve. Liverpool have now recorded four clean sheets on the bounce, a run that stems back to the 4th of February. With the mood in Klopp’s camp still on a high, Sunday’s visitors should be relishing a trip across Merseyside this weekend. Despite picking up a 3-0 win over strugglers Cardiff in midweek, it does not cover what has been a worrying campaign for Everton. Losing three of their last four top-flight matches, Marco Silva’s side have famously struggled at Goodison Park this season. The Blues have recorded just one home win in 2019 and have lost four of their last five at home. One man who will certainly be looking to exploit Everton’s ongoing issues at Goodison will be the in-form Sadio Mane. Bagging a brace against the Hornets in midweek the Senegal international has arguably been Liverpool’s attacking talisman in the second half of the season. The Reds winger has six goals in his last six Premier League appearances.

Tip: Sadio Mane to score anytime @ 6/4
