If Lampard’s move to Inter this summer does become a reality, the Scolari will have a hard time replacing one of the club’s best players. However, Scolari has already eyed a potential replacement for the England midfielder, according to a report in The People.
The report states that Portuguese midfielder Joao Moutinho would be brought in. Moutinho, who plays his trade for Sporting Lisbon would cost about £14 million according to the same report.
Manchester United were reported to have previously held an interest in the talented attacking midfielder, but they are now well stacked in that department. Arsenal and Everton were rumoured to be among the other suitors for the club, but the player would surely prefer to play his trade under Scolari – who gave him his international debut.
