Now under the guidance of Mark Bowen, the Royals have continued skyrocketing up the standings after winning each of their previous four appearances. Picking up victories over the likes of Preston and a 3-0 win over Derby last month, Saturday’s hosts are also enjoying a seven-match unbeaten run that stems back to the 7th of December. Remarkably sat just five points adrift of the play-offs and the mood in their camp the highest it has been in recent memory, a huge part of their stellar resurge has been thanks to their rugged displays at the back. Reading have conceded just a single goal in any of their last five matchups. With Blackpool continuing to show some serious signs of a struggle at the back end of the year, the Royals should be confident of booking their spot in the fourth round of this year’s FA Cup. Hit with a 2-1 defeat away at Rotherham, the Oranges have begun free-falling away from the play-off positions and find themselves in the midst of a five-match winless run.
