League football is back for another round this weekend and it seems there are a lot of very strong home teams in action against sides with poor away records. Even though it was tempting to take a gamble on a longshot, we are going to opt for an English four-fold home value bet divided between three of the top four divisions.
Saturday 4th March
12:30 Manchester United v Bournemouth
Manchester United will be full of confidence following their EFL cup win against Southampton at the weekend and are really starting to find their flair and style under Jose Mourinho. The Red Devils will be looking to make it 17 games unbeaten in the league and it looks likely Zlatan Ibrahimovic will add to his impressive goals record. Bournemouth on the other hand are letting in goals all over the place and have conceded 20 times in their last seven games. The Cherries have slowly been dragged into a relegation battle and look in trouble.
Tip: Home win @1/4
15:00 Swansea v Burnley
Burnley’s away record this season has been absolutely shocking and if it wasn’t for their complete opposite home form they would be in a huge fight. The Clarets have only scored six goals in 12 fixtures away from Turf Moor which just isn’t good enough. Swansea on the other hand have been rejuvenated since Paul Clement’s arrival and even though they have had some difficult fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester City recently there was enough in their performance to believe they could stay up. The Swans will be looking at this as a great chance for three points.
Tip: Home win @EVS
15:00 Millwall v Milton Keynes Dons
Millwall have now gone 16 games unbeaten have haven’t conceded a goal in nine games which is an amazing achievement. Neil Harris’ men look extremely confident and making up the six points between them and second placed Scunthorpe looks possible. Meanwhile MK Dons have won just once in nine games on the road and their season looks to be over with little chance of promotion or relegation.
Tip: Home win @6/5
15:00 Portsmouth v Crewe Alexandra
Portsmouth have been fairly solid at Fratton Park this season and have won nine out of 15 games, whilst also boasting the divisions best defensive record. Paul Cook’s team are six points behind second placed Plymouth Argyle and will be optimistic they can secure automatic promotion. Crewe Alexandra have looked terrible on the road this campaign and have won only three times. The only reason they are probably safe from the drop into non-league is the woeful performances from Newport County and Leyton Orient at the bottom of the table. It should be comfortable for Pompey.
Tip: Home win @4/11
