6th March: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 10/1

With another stacked European schedule on the cards this weekend, the action opens up on Saturday afternoon. So, for those of you out there looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have searched far and wide to find you a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday 6th March

BST 15:00 Millwall vs Blackburn Rovers

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, while Millwall might have endured a sluggish end to February, The Lions managed to make a much-welcomed return to winning ways in midweek. Coming from behind at home against Preston on home soil, Gary Rowett’s side secured a late 2-1 victory in South London and they have extended their stay in the top-half of the Championship table. Although many might feel that a late play-off charge might be a tad out of Millwall’s grasp, the former Birmingham boss has seen his squad lose just one of their last 11 second-tier matchups, a run that stems back to January 16th. Smelling a real chance to make it back-to-back wins this weekend, they should also be boosted by what is an eye-catching record on home soil. Including that 2-1 victory against Preston in midweek, Saturday’s hosts are unbeaten in their last five contests at The Den, a run that also saw them hit Sheffield Wednesday for four last month. On the flip side, hit with a 1-0 defeat away at Reading earlier in the week, Blackburn have only continued on a hugely worrying run of form. Freefalling down the Championship table, Tony Mowbray’s men have remarkably managed to pick up just a single point from their last seven straight second-tier fixtures. Also, losing each of their last four straight matchups away from Ewood Park, we’re backing a similar home victory in South London this weekend.

Tip: Millwall win @ 29/20

15:00 Cheltenham Town vs Port Vale

Eventually managing to come past a plucky Southend on Tuesday night, Cheltenham secured a deserved 1-0 win on home soil and they have continued on a real purple patch. Already tipped as the leading contender to be crowned League Two champions this season, The Robins hold a one-point lead over Cambridge and have really bounced back from that shock defeat against Bradford last month. With the mood in their camp at a real high, Michael Duff’s men find themselves enjoying a three-match winning run in England’s fourth-tier. More impressive, managing to muster 15 points from just their last six League Two matchups, Cheltenham have also tasted defeat just once in any of their last 12 appearances, a run that stems back to the middle of December. A huge part of The Robins’ extended purple patch has been thanks to their continued success at the back. Including another clean sheet against Southend last time out, they have gone over 300 minutes without picking the ball out of their own net. On the flip side, while Cheltenham might be battling it out in the promotion chase, Saturday’s guests are still looking over their shoulder at the drop zone. Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat way down in 21st, Port Vale are coming off the back of back-to-back 1-0 defeats against Salford and Cambridge. More worrying, along with collecting just a single point from their last four contests on the road, it should also be noted that The Valiants have failed to win any of their last nine fixtures outside of Staffordshire.

Tip: Cheltenham Town win & under four goals @ 6/4

19:45 Juventus vs Lazio

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, after suffering those back-to-back defeats last month and also dropping points away at Verona, Juventus will be hoping to fully put their February blip behind them. Knowing that they face a crucial second-leg showdown against Porto in the Champions League next week, The Old Lady did pick up a real boost with a thumping display last time out. While they might have left it until the second-half, Andrea Pirlo’s side eventually cruised to a 3-0 romp against Spezia on home soil and they have largely impressed with their performances at The Allianz. Along with securing thumping wins against the likes of Roma and Sassuolo, Juventus have won each of their last six straight Serie A contests on home soil, recording over 1.5 goals in each of those victories. With attacking talisman Cristiano Ronaldo once again getting himself on the scoresheet on Tuesday night, it’s well worth keeping an eye out for the Portuguese superstar. Already recording 29 goals for club and country this season, the 36-year-old should be confident against a struggling Lazio. Putting in another sluggish display as they were hit with a 2-0 loss away at Bologna last time out, The Eagles have lost three of their last four matchups across all formats. Along with a 4-1 drumming against Bayern Munich in their Champions League first-leg, it should also be noted that Saturday’s guests have lost three of their last four fixtures on the road.

Tip: Juventus win @ 5/6
