With the FA Cup making its return to action this weekend, we have a stacked schedule from up and down England. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.
Saturday November 6th
BST 15:00 Crystal Palace vs Wolves
Starting with Saturday’s hosts, putting in a hugely impressive performance last weekend, there is no doubt that Crystal Palace will find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Shocking almost everyone across the Premier League as they stormed their way to a 2-0 victory away at defending champions Manchester City, the Eagles have enjoyed an eye-catching start to the 2021/22 campaign. While the south London outfit might have struggled to pick up maximum points with much stability so far, they have clearly found an immediate boost under new boss Patrick Vieira. With the likes of summer loanee Conor Gallagher really enjoying life at Selhurst Park, Palace are unbeaten in each of their last five Premier League outings. Likewise, it should also be noted, this weekend’s hosts have seen each of their last three home fixtures finish with both teams finding the net. On the flip side, last seen earlier in the week picking up a 2-1 win at home against Everton, Wolves are in the midst of a stellar purple patch. Despite enduring a tricky start to the season, the Oranges are also enjoying their own five-match unbeaten run. With that run also highlighted by a stunning 3-2 win away at local rivals Aston Villa last month, it should be noted that Bruno Lage’s new squad have collected 13 points from their last five outings. Likewise, with each of their last four top-flight fixtures finishing with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome this weekend.
Tip: Both teams to score @ 19/20
15:00 Birmingham City vs Reading
While Birmingham might have endured a nightmare run of form earlier in the season, the Blues have managed to find what has been a much-needed purple patch. While Lee Bowyer’s side might have found themselves firmly at the heart of a relegation battle only a fortnight ago, the former Charlton boss has seen his side skyrocket their way up the Championship table. Opening up Saturday’s fixtures sat just a single point adrift of breaking into the top-12, this weekend’s hosts should find the mood in their camp at a season-high. Putting in another impressive display earlier in the week, Bowyer’s men stormed their way to a 3-0 romp against Bristol City at St. Andrew’s. With leading marksman Scott Hogan now finding the net in back-to-back outings, it should also be noted that the Blues have won each of their last three Championship contests on the spin. With their recent bounce highlighted by a 2-1 win against Swansea on home soil last month, they should be smelling a real chance to lay down another marker here. On the flip side, dealing with some worrying issues behind the scenes, Reading are also enduring what has been a nightmare run of form on the pitch. Last seen getting hit with a 1-0 loss away at Millwall in midweek, the Royals have lost each of their last four Championship matchups on the bounce. With Birmingham landing back-to-back wins against Saturday’s opponents, we’re backing a similar outcome at St. Andrew’s here.
Tip: Birmingham City win & under five goals @ 11/8
15:00 Peterborough vs Fulham
Starting with Saturday’s guests, putting in what was a stunning display earlier in the week, Fulham have been tipped as a standout pick to secure an immediate Premier League return. Laying down a real marker at Ewood Park, the Cottagers stormed their way to a 7-0 romp away at Blackburn, a result that was helped by Bournemouth’s shock defeat at the hands of Preston. Sat in the top-two and really finding their feet under new boss Marco Silva, the west London outfit have won each of their last five Championship contests on the spin. Gaining a fearsome reputation for their free-scoring displays, it should also be noted that Fulham have remarkably bagged themselves 21 goals on their five-match winning run. Finding a way to build off of their eye-catching 3-0 win against West Brom on October 30th, the Whites also have one attacking talisman enjoying his own purple patch. Bagging a brace in midweek, Serbian international Aleksandar Mitrović has already racked up 19 Championship strikes since opening the 2021/22 campaign. Knowing that they have a chance to leapfrog Bournemouth this weekend, Peterborough should face a stern test on Saturday afternoon. Having to settle for a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield on home soil in midweek, the Posh have struggled with their consistency. Firmly looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, Darren Ferguson’s men have won just a pair of their last eight contests, a run that stems back to September 18th.
Tip: Fulham win & Aleksandar Mitrović to score anytime @ 6/4
