9th February: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 16/1

With another action-packed Saturday of fixtures from across the country, we here at Soccer News have selected a few helpful tips that can boost your Saturday acca:

Saturday 9th February

BST 12:30 Fulham vs Manchester United

Coming off the back of a 1-0 win away at Leicester last weekend and now extending Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s unbeaten start to eight Premier League games, the mood in Manchester United’s camp couldn’t be any higher. With another win on Saturday briefly allowing them to climb back into the top-four, it has been the Reds’ newfound attacking identity under the Norweigan legend that has impressed most people. Scoring 20 top-flight goals on Solskjaer’s unbeaten run, England international Marcus Rashford is also enjoying arguably his most successful spell in Manchester. Now seen to be the number one choice, ahead of Romelu Lukaku, Rashford has now scored five goals in his last six Premier League appearances. Given Fulham’s woeful defensive record, Rashford and United should be confident of extending their run. Slumping to a 4-1 loss when the two sides met earlier in the season, Saturday’s hosts have now lost five of their last six league outings, conceding two or more goals in each of those defeats. With their 55 goals conceded the worst in the top-flight, we’re backing United to leave Craven Cottage with all three points and another successful afternoon in the final third.

Tip: Away win and over 2.5 goals @ 6/5

15:00 Nottingham Forest vs Brentford

With Martin O’Neil watching his new side slump to another disappointing 2-0 loss away at Birmingham last weekend, the former Ireland boss will know he really has his work cut out. Freefalling out of the playoff positions and with the chance to end the weekend as far down as 16th, Nottingham Forest have now lost four of their last five matches across all competitions, a run that stems back to New Year’s Day. With a top-six push looking more increasingly unlikely by the week, O’Neil will know that he must improve on his sides recent defensive issues. The Reds are yet to record a single clean sheet since the start of 2019 and have also now slumped to defeats in three of their last five matches at the City Ground. While Forest might be enduring a difficult run in the second half of the season, the same can not be said for Brentford. Booking their spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup and finally appearing to find their feet since the departure of Dean Smith, the Bees are now enjoying a three-match winning run in the Championship. In fact, Saturday’s visitors are now unbeaten in their last seven league outings and also put four past Rotherham in their last match away from Griffin Park.

Tip: Away win @ 8/5

15:00 Derby vs Hull City

Starting with Frank Lampard’s Derby side, although the Rams might not have been at their best in last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Preston, Saturday’s hosts still remain in contention to land a playoff position this season. Now unbeaten in their last four matches across all competitions, a run that also saw them knock Southampton out of the FA Cup, Derby are yet to be beaten at Pride Park since the middle of November. One man who is really spearheading the Rams’ playoff push is Liverpool loanee, Harry Wilson. Extending his stay until the end of the season, the winger has already bagged 12 goals this campaign. With the chance to once again leapfrog Bristol City in the table, Lampard should be excited to host Nigel Adkins’ side on Saturday. Despite picking up a 2-0 win over Stoke last weekend and enjoying a bright start to 2019, it has been the Tigers’ form away from the KCOM causing the most concern. Failing to win any of their last three matches on the road, Hull have also conceded two or more goals in each of those away appearances. With Wilson now finding the net in each of his last two matches at Pride Park, coupled with Hull’s recent defensive struggles on the road, we’re backing the Wales international to once again find the net on Saturday.

Tip: Harry Wilson to score anytime @ 21/10
