According to the Daily Mail, twenty-eight year old Irish defender Richard Dunne has finally put an end to all speculation by penning a new four-year deal at Eastlands club, Manchester City.
Dunne first arrived at Manchester City in 2000, and with his last contract running out next summer, speculation had been rife that he was about to join Everton or Aston Villa for a knockdown fee.
However, after discussing his future with the new gaffer, Mark Hughes, he has decided to commit and seal a new deal. Dunne told the club’s official website: “My first priority is, was and always has been to stay at Manchester City because I have enjoyed it and have settled here. When Mark Hughes got the job I was thrilled that he seemed to make my contract extension his priority. I’m delighted to stay.â€Â
